Richard Ortner, A Piano Factory resident for over 20 years, Mr Ortner is a pianist who studied musicology at NYU. He also trained as an architect at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. He was the Administrator of the Tanglewood Music Center, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer academy for advanced training in music. His duties at the BSO included overseeing chamber music and special contemporary music activities. In the summer of 1996, he produced the 50th anniversary, fully-staged production of Benjamin Britten's opera, Peter Grimes.
