Anna Thal-Reno, wife of J. David Reno, childcare worker and dedicated worker in the rent struggle in the building. Has lived in the building since 1981; loves her cat Ardis. "Maintaining this community means an awful lot (to me). I'm dedicated to the preservation of neighborhood and this building."
Bill Torrey, Photographer Bill Torrey organized of.by.about, an exhibition at The Gallery at the Piano Factory to mark World AIDS Day. Mr Torrey brought together a variety of artists to explore and pay homage to lost friends, stolen time and vanished worlds. The national publication a & u wrote, "the cumulative effect ...is an acknowledgement of scars, unhealed wounds inflicted by a still-ravaging disease. Though the art world has grown familiar with this theme, these artists never will."
