CRITIQUE OF THE WEEK

********************************

name = Nathan Black
Poem_author = Seattle Rain by R.L. Walker
Points = 4 points
opinion of the poem and author = I really liked this one; it was cute, but also showed a very elaborate use of stream-of-consciousness writing. My one suggestion would be to show, in some way, that the kid is four (instead of SAYING he's four). But this was a very unique and entertaining piece.

name = Kimberly Mize
Poem_author = Love by Ray Griffin
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = Love is what he said it is

name = ashleigh downs

Narrative_author = The Other Casualty Of War by Paul Bylin
Points = 5 points
opinion of the narrative and author = Very powerful narrative. You brought the entire story out in a simple, complete style.

name = Jerry Lewellen
Narrative_author = The Other Casualty Of War by Paul Bylin
Points = 5 points
opinion of the narrative and author = What I liked about this story is that you surrounded your story of Vietnam with the before and after viewpoints. The scene when you are looking for a job and had to lie that you were not a vet. shows how sad life is/was for Vietnam vets.

name = Jerry Lewellen
Story_author = I Met an Angel by Jamie Kay
Points = 5 points
opinion of the story and author = I enjoyed this story. The coincidence did not sound fake and the plot carried through to the end. Good Work

name = R.L. Walker
Submission_author = Please select the submission you are reviewing
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = Something "caught me," and I ended up reading your sad, yet delightful, article: "The End of The Road," several times. Your character, "Biff," suffered from little else than a wonderful case of "deep,and moving, personal insight." Willingly, and with Grace, "Biff" accepted the necessity to "Pass the Torch." (And, seemingly, without resentment!) What appealed to me, most, is the subtle way in which your composition moved from "self pity" to "acceptance" to "renewal of Spirit." As a reader, I need to hear..."The Rest...of the Story." Consider serializing this jewel of a story... and allow us to join you...in following "Biff" for the next 5 years. I'm betting you can, and will. Looking forward to more! R.L.

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = Please select the submission you are reviewing
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = Hey Stu, you don't have On Ghostly Grounds up, so thats what my review is on... WOW! If this is just the beginning of a novel, I would read the whole book. The beginning was really good, but the ending is a cliffhanger if you will. I hope this is not the end of the story, because it leaves to much unanswered. ~Jessica Sayer

name = Derek Bracer
Submission_author = Seattle Piddle by R.L. Walker
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = Absolutely hilarious. I have found myself in the parent's place more times than I can count, and I can just imagine any one of my five kids doing and thinking exactly like this five year old.

name = Tony Adams
Submission_author = Trust by Jessica Cordova
Points = 2 points
opinion of the submission and author = It was ok if you ask me because some poeple can keep a promise, they will listen to you if you have a good enough friend! But I agree because most people aren' that good at keeping secrets!

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = The Nature Of Man by Ken Bushnell
Points = 3 points
opinion of the submission and author = Well written but all you hear is the opinion of the author. Your not given enought to make your own mind up but it was well written with many good points, and thats the reason I gave it a 3.

name = Jessica Sayer
Story_author = A Dragon's Death by George Lafferty
Points = 5 points
opinion of the story and author = Such a well written piece, with nice detail and good style. It kept me interested through-out the story. The plot-line was a very creative one. It is nice to see another Sci-Fi piece up.

name = Miliff
Story_author = The Girl In The Rain by Miko
Points = 5 points
opinion of the story and author = It's a very good story. You feel as if you are really there! I liked the Santa Claus part, and I think that it should definitely be published.

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = The Box by Tony Adams
Points = 4 points
opinion of the submission and author = Quite amusing, but constupation is spelt constIpation. Short and to a funny conclusion.

name = Raye McDonald
Poem_author = Darkened Dreams by Gary Gordon
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = Romantic poetry seldom captures my attention, but this one was just elegant in style and content. It was really beautifully expressed. I look forward to your next submission.

name = Raye McDonald
Poem_author = Field Of Dreams by Jan Swinton
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = Sensitive poem written from the heart. My kind of poetry! Thank you for sharing your innermost feelings about your loved one. What a treasure this poem will be for future generations in your family.

name = Raye McDonald
Poem_author = Vanity by Chad Lilly
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = All I can say about this is "wow" - such insight. Chad, you are right on target about vanity. And regrettably, all of us "buy" into the superficial in one way or another. If you are a young person, I applaud you for your insight. If not, I give you three cheers for your bravery to write this insightful piece.

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = Please select the submission you are reviewing
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = "Shrouded In Black by Derick Irick" ~ A haunting poem, with great images. Tells a tale that most will know sooner or later, but with a great twist at the end that I didn't even see coming. Great work, keep it coming, but may I suggest on a brighter note maybe?

name = Jessica Sayer
Story_author = 2055- Chapter 5 by Katie Jordan
Points = 4 points
opinion of the story and author = I like this kind of writing for it reads like a diary [All you sisters now what I me.] It gives you that kind of realizism to the story. Trust me when I say this, once your hooked you'll be waiting impatiently to read more [he he he...I got my hands on the rest of the book and couldn't put it down, stayed up to 6 in the morning reading it.]

name = Jessica Sayer
Poem_author = Sleepwalker by Sandy Jamar
Points = 4 points
opinion of the poem and author = A strange format, but never the less the meaning is very clear. Love the wording and the use of descriptive words, they envok many feelings when read. The theme or topic is a litle unclear, but still a pretty good poem, overall.

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = Why by Tony Adams
Points = 3 points
opinion of the submission and author = Another poem about why. This word/question in the peom never gets an answer, which is the reason I give it a 3.

name = Jenn Van Massenhoven
Poem_author = New Daddy by Alice Bateman
Points = 4 points
opinion of the poem and author = I am Alice's eldest child, I know this story inside out and yet this poem moves me....

name = Laura Corwin

name = Krista Schulz

Points = 5 points

name = Katie Beth Moore
Poem_author = Darkened Dreams by Gary Gordon
Points = 4 points
opinion of the poem and author = This poem was really well written. I don't think the title was appropriate though. It created the image in my mind I think he wanted.

name = Derek Snyder
Submission_author = Emerald Eyes by Parker Lykins
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = I liked the poem. It was to me an unconventional love poem, and it was very unique.

name = Derek Irick
Submission_author = Emerald Eyes by Parker Lykins
Points = 3 points
opinion of the submission and author = I think the poem was very good and better than what I could come up with, but that is nut saying much. Anyway I like the poem very much.
