The portrait was done with a
reflection in a mirror, which was sitting flat on a
table. As much as i would like to make the portrait sound flawless, there is a tremendous error with the left eye (from where you look). The tilt of the eye is rather incorrect. |

of Terri. (3rd
Feb 99 Wed) |
Done for a class test. Terri is a
long-time classmate of mine, who willingly posed for this
portrait. It took roughly 2 and a half hours, in which i
tried to capture everything we talked about and her most
'attractive' traits -- at the time of painting -- in the
colours. (Sad to say, i like the greyed pic on the left more than the painting itself.) |

99 Tue) The sketch. |
A rather vicious portrait of myself.
Done during class and out of a sudden. No proper
explanation can be given for the use of colours, except
for the fact that i'm sick of the superficial skin tones
of people. The background was earlier a tryout of a new bottle of modeling paste and gel. An impromptu decision to use the tryout came when i decided to paint another self-portrait. (Which was painted with my reflection in a slight tilt.) |

Another very experimental portrait of
myself. The pic on the left is actually a negative image of the real pic. Meaning, i painted myself in an attempt to paint 'negatively'. Quite a hard painting to do, for it got rather confusing after a while and i ended up painting light for light instead of light for dark, vice versa. I, however, knew the effort wasn't wasted when the negative of the painting ended up looking 'correct'. |
