Jake Alexander- Written Information

Appearance : Jacob has deep red hair and brown eyes. He also has methane gills like his mother.  He's short (about 5'8").

Personality : Raised by Minbari foster parents on the Minbari mining colony Tr'Ess'Na, Jake acts like a Minbari.  He doesn't know who his real parents are, nor does he know how he got into his parents custody.  He's always been self concious in the extreme, but otherwise is very congenial like most Minbari are.  He has always dreamed of joining the Anla'Shok, but his low self-esteem (which roots from being ridiculed in his childhood for being "different") has always kept him from trying to join.  He has never told anyone about his psionic powers for fear that he would be further ostracized from society, and, because of fear that his secret would be revealed, he has never gotten close to anyone, not even his own foster parents.  He is independent in what he does and he is often neglects to reveal his reasons for doing what he does.  This has gotten him into trouble more than once.  He recently left home to see the galaxy, hoping to find some peace among the unknown.  As a telepath he has a keen awareness of hyperspace.

Family : His foster parents are of the Worker caste, both from the clan First Wing of Zhidann.  His father's name is Gedann and his mother's name Nelann. Jake loves his parents very much, but has never been close to them, as mentioned above.  Life on Tr'Ess'Na was never easy, but he always loved the Singing Caves in the Shaladura Mountains.  When he was young, he once went with his parents to visit Minbar, an experience which he has always treasured, because he got to see the training facilities of the Anla'Shok. He also met a Minbari telepath, who was the only person Jake ever told about his psi powers.  The telepath, named Lashenn, taught Jake how to control his telepathy, if only in the simplest way, to block out the "voices" of those around him.  Lashenn also told Jake about the Earth Psi Corps-something that has frightened him ever since.  Since he is a Minbari citizen he knows he can't be forced to join, but the fear has always stayed with him, and will probably stay with him for the rest of his life.

N.B. Although Jake's telepathic powers are untested, he knows so little about them that his actual effective rating is only small. As he discovers himself, his powers are sure to grow.

Current Employment:
Jake has taken the oppurtunities offered to him by his government to be an exchange officer in the VSF. He formerly served as Helmsman on the flagship, LSC Vol, under Captain Hi'Katuishi Creala, then was transferred to Pax Station under the command of Captain V'thtashi Harun de'. Tzipora has also offered to help with his training of his Psi talents, but has yet to make any progress.
