I'm a Catalan! was originally a modest teaching idea created to be used with teenagers learning English as a foreign language. Modern technology and particularly the long hours of careful dedication of a number of friends have made this internet version possible and therefore available to a broader audience. This new version, I am glad to say, retains its original modesty. The information contained, although correct to the best of my knowledge, is far from comprehensive. A LOT remains to be said about CATALONIA.

Please find a good book and/or search the www for greater things!

I am most indebted to PILAR MORESO I RAGA and JOAN MASDEU I AYMAMI for reading the original draft and making many invaluable additions and suggestions at all times. I am the only one to blame for any incoherences and/or omissions in the final version.

I'll never forget the enthusiasm that CARLES ALTADILL (an old student of mine at IES Antoni Marti Franques in Tarragona) put into the delightful drawings (a board and a picture puzzle) he made for the original printed version of the activity.

JOSEP BASSOLS' kindness and encouragement  -as well as his great Computer Science skills-  were just vital. Without his assistance, these pages would never have come to life. Again, I am solely responsible for all the excesses in manner and style. That's me!  :)

disclaimer

The texts are basically my own crop, although I won´t deny that I checked a couple of details here and there, mainly the Enciclopèdia Catalana and a few brochures.  The pictures have been gleaned from various sources around the www and I believe they are public domain. If that were not occasionally the case, copyright owners are encouraged to

PLEASE   NOTE

I have been working on this project somewhat intermittently between 1994 and 1998, certainly for love, not money. ENJOY IT and let me know how you like it. You may use the above email address to share your thoughts. THANKS!
