All About M.A.X. And M.A.X. 2The original game of M.A.X. was a different sort of strategy-war game. You played it in turns. There was no "super unit" that was better than any other. You have to use a skillful combination of all sorts of units in order to win. It was the only strategy game that I knew of that had AMMO, which in real life is very real. There were all sorts of buildings, for production and maintenance of units, and for upgrading anything. M.A.X. had some of the neatest ways to upgrade, I thought. You could research cost, ultimately making units so cheap you can build them in only a couple of turns. To win, your ultimate goal on most planets was to either have the most points by a certain turn number, or reach a certain number of points before everyone else. Of course, if you eliminate all enemies, you win also. Now that I have said that, on to M.A.X. 2. In M.A.X. 2, you play the role of a M.A.X. commander, a human brain protected inside of a robotic body. Basically, you are in COMPLETE control of mechanized units and buildings that make up your force. You control these units with your mouse to do all sorts of things.
