It all began when Vic, waiting for other players to post
so he could continue his turn, began spinning off a side story that involved
Dariel's character Hotaru. Dariel responded, Vic retaliated, Augs
jumped in, and the mayhem acquired a life of its own.

Lost? Here's a quick reference on the characters and in-jokes used
in this mother of all outtakes.
Characters
(in order of appearance)
Ryoushi Kashunokyu - the "perverted old man" with a
love for fishing; actually a kyujutsu sensei of the Wasp Clan gone ronin.
Genji Hotaru - this samurai of the Butterfly Clan is so handsome
he keeps getting mistaken for a woman. Nuff said ...
Okonomiyaki Ukyo - yup, it's her all right, plucked straight
from Nerima to do a cameo in this little bit of madness.
Darling Nekoashidori and Pretty Pretty Nuomi - Doji
Nekoashidori and Shosuro Nuomi in "real" life, a play on the anime
stereotypes of the suave mysterious ladies' man ala Tuxedo Mask and
the "magical girl" heroine ala Sailor Moon or Wedding Peach.
Togashi Jo Shimito (the bald tattooed man with cat ears) -
ise zumi with a knack for cryptic and kooky sayings, and a real-life
thing for cats.
Hida Nakasone - a hulking warrior of the rough and ready Crab
Clan, with a distinctly deficient perception; he has determined to
make Hotaru his "Pony-Tailed Goddess" (you know where this is going
- Rumiko Takahashi-sama, forgive us!)
Genji Reiko - Hotaru's cousin and lover, who bears a striking
family resemblance to Hotaru. It doesn't help that she
wears her hair in a long ponytail also.
Shinjo Subotai - ex-Unicorn samurai, now captain of the Imperial
Guard, unfortunately named after (and resembling?) Conan's sidekick
in the first movie. We just had to rub it in, thus his Cimmerian
horse.
Kitsu Kizu - aka Kitsu Tamori, the Great Cheesy One ...
Footnotes
1) The "Otosan Uchi Shuffle" - a play on "the Tokyo Shuffle,"
where an anime character's legs are shown as blurs to indicate rapid,
usually panicked, running.
2) Hotaru and Reiko look so much alike, they can be mistaken for
each other easily.
3) Both wasabi and green tea are green powders in raw form.
4) Ukiyo-e hangings often depict sumo wrestlers, geisha, samurai,
and other characters in grotesque, twisted poses.
5) Conan - Crom, no need to explain this!
6) Tatewaki Kuno - no need for explanation.
7) Ranma Saotome - no need for explanation.
8) The First Togashi - the divine ancestor of the Togashi clan really
*is* a dragon. In the timeline of this story, he's dead.
9) The horse skit at the end of Episode 4 was inspired by a scene
from a classic samurai film. Cybercookie to whoever guesses
it right first ... write your answer in our guestbook!
