The Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan

The Olympic games are already over. The winter Olympic games were held in Nagano, Japan this year. These games have been around for over 100 years. The summer Olympics and the winter Olympics used to be in the same year, every four years. That was changed in 1992,and now the summer games are on every leap year and the winter games are two years after that. This year was the 18th year of the winter Olympic games. There were almost 100 countries participating in these Olympics. The Nagano Olympic Village was scheduled to accommodate 3,000 athletes and officials who participated in the games. The opening ceremony was on February 7th,in Japan, February 6th here. The events went until the 22nd. The events included:

Alpine Skiing

The Bobsled

The Biathlon

Cross-country Skiing

Curling

Figure Skating

Freestyle Skiing

Ice Skating

The Luge

The Nordic Combined

Short Track Speed Skating

Ski Jumping

Snowboarding

Speed Skating

The U.S women’s hockey team walked away with a gold medal, while other Americans got various medals in other events. Be sure to watch the summer Olympics in the year 2000. Good job U.S.A.
