What Made 1997 Heaven

The following are samples of writings from some Faubion students. They wrote about all kinds of sports that they enjoy playing.

I think 1997 was heaven because it was the first year that I played on a baseball team. I played for the Astros. We started off with a 0-5 start, but we won all of the games the rest of the season until the first game of the tournament, which we lost. – Eric

I like to play football with my friends and my cousins. I like to have my cousins on my team because he can block for me. When we played football it was 3 on 3 and my dad was the quarterback. We beat them 100-86. – Joshua

I went to Eisenbergs on Monday after school from 5: 00 p.m-8: 30 p.m. I went off the new pyramid they built. It was Awesome! I got about 7ft high off of it! I also learned how to transfer on 2-quarter pipes. I haven’t fallen once doing that. It’s pretty easy. Then I cleared the middle of the W half pipe. When my mom got there I showed her some tricks. – Stefan

I like to play with my friends because they are nice people. When Stefan came over to my house we played tackle football and my dad took us to Ci Ci’s to eat pizza. We played games and then we came home and watched a movie. Then his mom came and got him. We had a lot of fun. I hope that he can come over again sometime. – Joshua

Faubion Spirit Club is a school club that cheers. We go to the home games and cheer for all of the players. We have t-shirts and sweatshirts that have a Spirit Club logo on it. It’s a lot of fun so if you want to join, ask Mrs. May for a form. – Felicia

I’m not sure, but it was probably baseball that made things worse in 1997. It was when my team, the Mustangs went to Austin, TX. My team made it all of the way to the semi-finals and lost. I hate that word.
