Meteorology - Several 4th and 5th grade students are learning about the causes and effects of weather. With Ms. Gundal's guidance, students are manipulating and interpreting real time satellite images from Goldsboro's POES ground station. Mrs. Rivera's 2nd grade students are exchanging weather data with their keypals in, Suffolk, UK. Check out some of our favorite weather links.
Chorus - The chorus members have given some wonderful performances. They will be practicing for their spring concert. Songs will include "Lets Hear It For America", "Everybody Has To Have A Hero", "You Can Grow Up To Be President".
Art Club - Creative 4th and 5th grade artists meet three times a week with the art teacher to explore new materials and art media. The Art Club provides these students additional time to complete more in depth art projects and activities.
Drama - Fifteen 4th and 5th grade students meet once a week for our Drama Club. Our young actors and actresses are enjoying learning about a special kind of literature called "Plays". In addition to trying out for parts, we also create scenery, props, and choose appropriate sound effects. Our students are becoming aware of what goes on "behind the scenes" that helps make a production successful. They are taught that acting is also related to the audience, being able to project one's voice, and showing emotions such as happy, sad, angry, and surprised. Our drama club has performed two fairy tales and a tall tale. Our next play will be a production that addresses some environmental issues.
