Resource Programs

Music
- Music is an integral part of the human spirit and has served throughout
the ages as one of the measures of civilization. Experience, the
foundation of all learning, provides a personal relationship with the music
itself and prepares the way for study. Study enables the student
to put labels on what he/she has experienced. It develops concepts that transfer
to other music and to other subjects. Performance is both the refinement
of experience and the natural outgrowth of study. It is overtly realized
in singing, playing instruments, or moving. It is internally realized when
the student understands and participates in the performance of others.
Music classes meet weekly. During the spring, the entire school will be
focusing on the different instrument families. Brass, woodwinds, strings,
voices, and percussion will be discussed and demonstrated. Mrs. Reynolds encourages
students to be a part of her Chorus.
Art
- Art classes meet once a week. Students are requested to bring an old
shirt or wear old clothes. Interested fifth grade students are encouraged
to join Ms. Dietrich's Art Club.
P.E.
- Physical Education is an important part of instruction. The vigorous
exercise and sportsmanship in all activities help each student become a better
person. The coach incorporates basic academic skills in their activities.
Goldsboro students participate in county track competitions and the Presidential
program for health and fitness.

on keyboarding, mouse, and basic computer skills. Students use these skills when working on various computer programs and projects in their regular classroom.
Media
- Our automated media center is always bustling with students checking
out books, using reference and research books and multimedia encyclopedias,
or meeting with our media specialist. Our media specialist, Mrs. Schepise,
