Mark scores on the Game winning touchdown as time expired to edge the Sand Storm in a game with a close finish.

Icebergs Lose Lead, But Still Win

June 16, 2005- The Icebergs (1-1) only other meeting with the Sand Storm (0-1) was 93-60 Icebergs romp in Mark's first ever game. This time, their rematch would have the makings of a great ball game.

Both teams showed great offense scoring on barnburners, and on short drives.

In the middle of the 2nd quarter, the Icebergs took a 37-20 lead after Mark picked off a Kenny pass.

However, the Sandstorm would battle back scoring the last 11 points of the half after a successful onside throw attempt to cut the Icebergs lead down to 5.

Midway through the 3rd, the Sand Storm were able to regain the lead after Charlie intercepted a Kenny pass in the endzone. His eventual touchdown would give him a 56-51 lead. And for the rest of the game, the two teams would exchange scores throughout, with the lead changing hands 9 more times from this point on.

With under 30 seconds to go, the Icebergs scored a touchdown but missed the 2 point attempt.

The Sandstorm responded with a long throwoff return, that would lead to an easy touchdown score and a 83-78 lead. But they too missed the 2 point attempt. That attempt would have given the Sandstorm a 7 point lead. 16 seconds remained on the clock.

After a short play, the Icebergs were able to score a touchdown to win it as time ran out, 84-83.

Notes:
-The Icebergs are now 1-1 for the season and 2-0 verses the Sand Storm.
-The Sand Storm fall to 0-1.
-Kenny threw two interceptions.
