This pair spawned on April 25, 2000. The female yellow and half moon geno. The male is a neat red/blue/white/cream marble veil tail.

1. The female approaches the male in a head down position with fins clamped.
2. The male and female embrace and "lock" together.

4. The male swims down to catch the eggs which the female will expell.
3. The male's hold on the female relaxes.
6.The female will remain motionless under the nest for a few seconds. Then she will also search for eggs.
5. The male catches the eggs as the female releases them.
7. The male will catch all eggs that he sees falling before swimming to the bottom of the aquarium to search for those he has missed.
8.The female also searches for eggs on the bottom of the aquarium before returning to the top to embrace with the male again.
9.The male places the eggs in the nest he has built. He will then wait for the female to return to spawn again.
11.As the fry grow stronger, they will "stick" themselves to the water surface, glass and any other object near the top of the water. They propell themselves upward with their little tails until they hit something and stick.
10.The male will catch the fry as they fall and collect those on the bottom to return them to the bubble nest.
12.The male has been removed and the fry swim on their own in a horizontal position.
13.The fry swim among the last few bubbles of the nest looking for tiny worms and other tiny creatures in water to eat. April 30, 2000
