| **********My Apartment********** Taking a sip of some hot blood, I turned the page. I had already gone through three books of the seven and there was nothing even remotely concerning the Anointed One. Until now. Shifting forward to see better, I began to read the passage. Prophecy - Five with the mark will die, and from their blood the Anointed one shall rise. What the hell? What mark? I glimpsed at the other side of the page. An illustration of the symbol was on it. It looked like a half moon on the top and bottom, with two dots on the left and right sides. Beneath that were two straight lines. Inside of the whole figure stood a cross. Underneath the illustration, I saw a caption. Five shall wear this mark. Not invisible to those who are not mortals or to those who make it appear. Where had I seen that mark? It looked so familiar. I was about to call Claudia and Freddie, when I realized that it was still to early. They needed more rest. Deciding it was a nice night and that it would do me good to get out, I looked around for my coat. I slipped it on once it had been spotted. Hopefully it wouldn't be that chilly. Closing the door behind me, I walked out, shoving my hands into my pockets to keep them warm. What the hell? I wondered when felt a wadded piece of paper. Taking it out and unfolding it, I read "Nick Carter." Oh yeah, the Backstreet concert, I thought with a smile. I threw the paper back into my pocket and continued walking. It hit me only seconds later. "Nick's wrists," I gasped. ******************** "Sir, we're trying but..." "I don't care. You're not trying hard enough!" he yelled. He grabbed the vampire in front of him by the collar of his shirt. "Listen, I don't want to hear that you're trying. TRY HARDER!" The vampire was flown across the room. "Listen up everybody." All the beings in the room turned to him. "I will not be bloody happy until I see the five who wear the mark right here in front of me. If you do not get them soon, I will kill each one of you with my own bare-fucking-hands, you hear!?" One of the vampires nearby ventured a step forward. "Adam," he croaked, "we do believe that they're out there and we will not stop 'til we find them." Standing up, Adam walked over to the vampire. "Now, you see people. Now this is what I want to hear." Standing straighter, he belted out, "I'm loosing too much time. We only have five more months left. If I don't have them soon, you're going to wind up like this fucking moron." He then walked over to the vampire he had thrown, crouching down to snap the figure's neck. "Any questions?" ******************** "Oh God, you're telling me that the Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys is one of the five guys?" Freddie asked, laughing. It was eight hours after I had realized that Nick was part of the five. Claudia and Freddie had immediately come over when I told them that I'd found a lot more information. Of course, neither of them believed me when I told them the whole story. "Yes, Freddie," I said for the hundredth time. "Let me get this straight. Nick -- of the Backstreet Boys?" He continued laughing. "Look, you two!" I yelled, walking around my apartment. "You don't have to believe me, but I'm telling you, I know what I saw. I saw that same mark on his wrist.." Stopping for a moment, I went over to retrieve the book that I had found the information in. "See, it says here that only immortals can see it. That's why I can only see it. Mortals can only see it if they perform a magic spell, and then ONLY whoever did that spell can see it, if they're looking for it." I sat the book down on the table, then sat down myself into a chair. "So, let's say you're right," Claudia replied. "Let's say you're absolutely right on this. What are we supposed to do? And he is only found one of the five." Shifting my gaze to the book then back to her, I said, "Well, I do believe that I know who the other four are." With a puzzled -- yet definitely interested -- expression, Freddie lean in closer to me. "Who?" he asked. Getting back to my feet, I went to my computer to turn it on. "Well, there are five members of the Backstreet Boys, right?" I wondered aloud. As both of them nodded, I typed in a few things on the keyboard. Waiting a few seconds, I motioned them over to me. "This is some girl's site, a girl who went to the same concert as Lisa, Sarah, and I went to. I found it while you guys were sleeping last night," I said. "Aww, is Rachel becoming an inside-the-closet Backstreet fan?" Freddie chuckled. Ignoring him, I continued clicking around with my mouse, until I came to what I wanted. "What does this have to do with anything?" Freddie asked. "It has to do with everything," I said, pointing to the pictures on the screen. "Those are pictures of each boy during the concert. She posted them last night," I told the two disbelievers. Clicking on each picture to make them into larger versions, I then cut and pasted each into my Photo Shop program. Zooming in on each boy's right wrist, I shaded in the area. Claudia and Freddie both gasped. "I was playing around with the pictures before you got here," I commented. "Since the book was written back in the 1800s, they could never comprehend that you don't need magic or immortals to see the mark. 'Cause computers never existed back then." There on my computer screen was a picture of each boy's wrist. And on those wrists were the five mark -- the symbols that represented the Anointed One. Still gawking at the computer screen, Claudia finally broke the silence and asked, "How come no one else discovered this? I mean, millions of fans look at the boys daily and no one has ever seen those marks?" Clicking around on the computer again, I started printing out the pictures of each boy's wrist. "Well," I started, turning around in the chair, "in the book, it says, and I quote, 'whoever did that spell can see it, IF THEY'RE LOOKING FOR IT,' like maybe they have to know what it is, in order to see it. Maybe it's the same way with the computer. In order to see it, you have to know what you're looking for. So that would be why fans can't see it. There not looking for an Anointed symbol... you know what I mean." Finally not staring at the screen anymore, Freddie blurted out, "This is some serious freaky shit!" Both us girls laughed; we agreed. |
