Festival Producer (1987-1990)

I worked as a Producer on a number of festivals; in each of these positions similar duties were required to those performed at the Moomba Administration (below). Some positions required minimal responsibility, others were extremely challenging. It's worth mentioning that in my involvement with the Art at Work festival additional promotional skills were of use; with the Comedy Festival I was also Artistic Director.

Moomba Producer (1986-1987)

I worked in the Moomba administration for a year, starting in the role of assistant Art Director for 6 months then promoted to Producer. I became responsible for all aspects of contractor liaison, tenders, stage design and associated hire, services (Police, St Johns, Fire Brigades), radio communications, council permits and liaison, and problems as they arose throughout the Festival.

Most of my work during the first six months related to research, submission writing, and event proposals for the Board. I often worked within parameters decided upon by an array of Moomba Committees, balanced by practical consideration. Previously I had performed at Moomba, and worked as Stage Manager in the 1986 festival.
