Radio Producer (Early 1980's)

I worked at 3RRR FM in a number of different roles; the station worked on a shoe-string budget, yet handled a large number of volunteers.

In my primary role as 3RRR's in-house Producer, I produced, engineered, directed, did voices, and often wrote, almost all on-air station /sponsorship announcements. Additionally, I trained volunteers (also for TAFE and 3PBS), and was Executive Producer for volunteer productions. I maintained and improved production /technical facilities, and was one of a small team who developed marketing and promotion for the station; this included running concerts, Live-to-Air broadcast, arranging design and production of items such as T-shirts, posters, and other materiel.

An additional facet to this job was as a Composer and Recordist of station ID tunes and the like. Prior to my employment at 3RRR I had operated the Radio On Stage Live-to-Air series (Bookings, Venue negotiation, Contracting); and produced The Hedgehogs' Breakfast Show (a three hour magazine-format show) as a volunteer.

Tv Audio

My work at Open Channel included O/B Boom-operating, Post-mixing, SFX, voice-overs, and audio sweetening. This position encompassed all audio related matters in the production of video documentaries, TV advertisements, live broadcast including music, and pre-taped programme and linking material for Open Channels' first on-air test broadcast.
