Robert J. Sawyer was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1960. He has sold 17 novels to major US publishers. He has won
thirty national and international
writing awards including eight Aurora Awards,
the 1995 Nebula Award
for The Terminal Experiment
and the 2003 Hugo Award
for Hominids. He has been been a finalist for the coveted Hugo Award
7 times with the novels The Terminal Experiment, Starplex, Frameshift, Factoring Humanity,
Calculating God
and Hominids and for the short story The
Hand You're Dealt. Rob finally took home a Rocket
in 2003 for Hominids.
Robs latest novel is called Hybrids
and is the third book in the Neanderthal Parallax trilogy. The the
first two volumes are Hominids
and Humans. Also look for Robs new short story collection from Quarry
Press called Iterations.
Red Deer Press of Calgary, Alberta, has announced its new science-fiction
imprint: Robert J.
Sawyer Books. Rob will serve as editor for the line, which will
consist of at least three books per year, and he will write introductions
for each book released. The first acquisitions are Letters from the Flesh
by Marcos Donnelly and Getting Near the End by Canadian author Andrew
Weiner.
