Emirates [04-Nov]
has placed orders for 22 A380-800, including two A380-800Fs and an additional ten options. The delivery is scheduled for between '06 and '09 for the pax A380 and for '08 for the freighters. The engine selection is not yet made but RR is in the lead. In addition they signed for three additional A330-200, bringing their total orders for the type to 26. The A330s will be RR powered with first delivery in Apr-03. In addition to these firm orders two LOIs have been signed, one covering eight A340-600s with delivery starting in '05. A second LOI covers 25 B777s of yet to be decided subtypes. Delivery of the twins will stretch from '04 till '10.
OCTOBER-2001
BBJ - Boeing Business Jet [30-Oct]
has announced four additional orders for the Boeing BBJ. Total BBJ orders are now standing at 72. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.

ACJ - Airbus Corporate Jet [18-Oct]
has announced one additional order for the Airbus 319 CJ. The customer has not been disclosed. Total ACJ orders are now standing at 11. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
TAM Linhas Aéreas [08-Oct]
has firmed up an option for one A320-200 bringing it's total order for the type to 29 with another 14 A319 on order. The delivery date is not known. The first TAM A32X order was placed back on 19 March 1998.
China Eastern Airlines [02-Oct]
has ordered four B737-700, this is their first order for the type and it is thus a surprise as they operate both the A319 and A320. The latest order was placed as part of the China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Corp. - CASC order for 30 aircraft.
China Southern Airlines [02-Oct]
has ordered 20 B737-800, this is their first order for the type and it is thus a surprise as they operate 20 A320. The latest order was placed as part of the China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Corp. - CASC order for 30 aircraft.
Hainan Airlines [02-Oct]
has ordered three B737-800, bringing it's total orders for the type to 6. Their first B737NG order was signed back on the 30th October 1997. The latest order was placed as part of the China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Corp. - CASC order for 30 aircraft.
Shanghai Airlines [02-Oct]
has ordered one B737-700 and two B737-800, bringing it's total orders for the types to respectively 3 and 2. Their first B737NG order was signed back on the 30th October 1997. The latest order was placed as part of the China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Corp. - CASC order for 30 aircraft.

Japan Air System [29-Aug]
has ordered three additional A300-600Rs, bringing their total orders for the type to 22. The aircraft will be powered by PW 4158 engines, delivery is scheduled between Aug-02 and Nov-02 (MSN 836 to 838). Total A300 order are now 583.

has announced two additional orders for the Boeing BBJ, oneeach -700 and -800. Initially the order was for two -700BBJ. Total BBJ orders are now standing at 69. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
Air Tran [21-Aug]
has ordered one additional B717-200s, bringing their total orders for the type to 53. The B717 customer census shows that total firm orders for the B717 are 137.

customer has signed a firm order for 3 B767-300ERs. The order might be from JAL, but this needs confirmation. More details will be posted when available.

BBJ - Boeing Business Jet [31-Jul]
has announced oneo additional order for the Boeing -700BBJ. Total BBJ orders are now standing at 67. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
Singapore Airlines [31-Jul]
has converted three options for B777-200ER to a firm order. Delivery of the RR Trent 892 powered B772s will take place between '03 and '09. Total SIA orders for the B777 are 58. The B777 customer census shows that total firm orders for the B777 are 581.
Air China [31-Jul]
has signed a firm order for six B737-700s. This order was listed as undisclosed and was made public on the 2nd October 2001.
Dragonair [30-Jul]
has converted one option for A330-300 to a firm order. Delivery is not known. Engines will be RR Trent 772B6. Total Dragonair orders for the A333 are 5. The A330 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A330 are 409.
TAM Linhas Aéreas [27-Jul]
has firmed up an option for one A320-200 bringing it's total order for the type to 26 with another 16 A319 on order. The delivery date is not known. The first TAM A32X order was placed back on 19 March 1998.
Northwest Airlines [24-Jul]
has converted one option for a PW 2037 powered B757-200 to a firm order, bringing the NW orders for the type to 56. They converted two of their original 757-300s to -200. This order was placed on the 16-Jan-01.
Jet Blue [23-Jul]
has signed a new order for one A320. This takes JetBlue's total A320 orders to 64 firm and 59 options. The delivery of the newly ordered A320s is scheduled for 2007, engines will be IAE V2527-A5. The first order was signed on 22 Apr 99.
GECAS [20-Jul]
has signed a firm order for one A320. This takes GECAS total A320 orders to 77.

has announced one additional order for the Boeing -700BBJ. Total BBJ orders are now standing at 66. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
Emirates [16-Jul]
has converted two option for RR Trent 772B6 powered A330-243 to a firm order. Delivery will take place between Jul-02 and Aug-02. This takes Emirates total A330 orders to 23.
Singapore Airlines [12-Jul]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 29 Sep 00 for ten A380-800s with another fifteen options. The options may be converted to pax or freighters. Engines will be RR Trent 975. The delivery will take place between Jan-06 and Nov-07 for the firm orders and will continue till 2011 for the options. The A380 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A380 are 48, with 37 options and another 23 LOIs.
Frontier Airlines [11-Jul]
has converted two options for a CFM56-5B5/P powered A319-100 to a firm order, bringing it's total orders for the type to 9. The delivery is scheduled for May-02. Total Frontier orders are 9 A319 + 15 leased and 5 A318 plus 1 leased. Total A319 orders are 712.
GECAS [10-Jul]
has signed a firm order for one A320. This takes GECAS total A320 orders to 76.
JUNE-2001

Air Berlin [26-Jun]
has converted two options for B737-800s to a firm order, bringing it's total orders for the type to 26. The delivery is scheduled for Nov-02.
TAM Linhas Aéreas [20-Jun]
has signed a LOI for 20 A318-100. The delivery date is not known and the engine choice has not yet been disclosed although PW6000s seem likely. The first TAM A32X order was placed back on 19 March 1998 and covered 25 A319, 13 A320 and 37 options.

Japan Air Lines [19-Jun]
has signed an add-on order for three B777-200ER with GE90-94B engines in lieu of PW4084. Delivery will take place between '03 and '06. Total JAL B777 orders are 34 with 11 for the -200ER.
Air France [18-Jun]
has confirmed it's LOI dated 24-Jul-00 by firming up an order for 10 A380-800 and 4 options. Engines will be GP 7276, first delivery is scheduled in Nov-06. The A380 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A380 are 38, with another 33 LOIs.
Jet Blue [18-Jun]
has signed a new order for 30 A320 with five options and 13 purchase rights. This takes JetBlue's total A320 orders to 63 firm and 60 options. The delivery of the newly ordered A320s is scheduled between Feb-04 and 2007, engines will be IAE V2527-A5. The first order was signed on 22 Apr 99. Total firm A320 orders are 1494.
Royal Air Maroc [18-Jun]
has signed a firm order for 4 A321-200. The delivery will start in Nov-03, an engine choice has not yet been disclosed. Total firm A321 orders are 384.
ILFC [17-Jun]
has signed a firm order for 25 A319, 37 A320, 18 A321, 21 A332, 5 A380-800 and 5 A380-800Fs. The A320 family aircraft subtypes can be changed, the A332 orders can be converted to either A330 or A340 subtype, including yet to be launched freighter versions. The delivery will take place between '02 and '09. The A380 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A380 are 28, with another 43 LOIs. Total ILFC orders for the A320 and A330 families are respectively 435 and 96.
Air Gabon [01-Jun]
has signed a LOI covering two B737-700s, one B767-300ER and one B747-400C. Deliveries will start in 2003.
MAY-2001
BBJ - Boeing Business Jet [24-Apr]
has announced one additional order for the Boeing -800BBJ. Total BBJ orders are now standing at 64. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
Singapore Airlines [29-May]
has converted their LOI dated 14 Feb 2001 to a firm order by signing a firm order for ten B777-200ER to replace their A310-300s. Delivery of the RR Trent 892 powered B772s will take place between '03 and '09. Total SIA orders for the B777 are 55. An additionla 10 options have been secured. The B777 customer census shows that total firm orders for the B777 are 575.
American Airlines [22-May]
has ordered 15 additional B767-300ERs, bringing their total orders for the type to 49. Delivery is set between Jun-02 and 2003. Engines will be GE CF6-80C2B6.
United Airlines [21-May]
has converted two options for A319-100 and one for A320-200 to a firm order. Total UA orders for the A319/20 are respectively 78 and 117. The delivery of the IAE V2522-A5/2527-A5 powered A319/A320s is scheduled for 1Q-03.
Qatar Airways [15-May]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 27th Feb to a firm order for five A330-200s and 3 options. The A330 will be powered by the GE CF6-80E1A3 engines and first delivery will be in Apr-02. The A330 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A330 are 385 with 207 for the -200.
GECAS [10-May]
has converted one option for A330-200 to a firm order. Total GECAS orders for the A330-200 are 18. The A330 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A330 are 380.
An undisclosed [08-May]
customer has signed a firm order for one B777-200ER. It is assumed but unconfirmed that the customer is El Al Israel Airlines. If true this would bring their total orders for the type to 4. The B777 customer census shows that total firm orders for the B777 are 565.

Oman Air [30-Apr]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 10-Feb-01, an ordered 2 B737-700 with delivery for Jul-02 and May-04. They took two options for B737-700. In addition they will lease one B737-800 and two B737-700 from ILFC for delivery between 4Q-01 and Jul-02.

Virgin Atlantic Airways [28-Apr]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 15 Dec 00 for six A380-800s with another six options. Engines will be RR Trent 975. First delivery is scheduled for June 2006. The A380 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A380 are 18, with another 48 LOIs.
GB Airways [24-Apr]
has ordered three additional A320-200s, bringing their total orders for the type to 6. Engines will be IAE V2527-A5s. Delivery is set for Apr-02.

Cyprus Airways [20-Apr]
has confimred it's LOI dated 16-Feb-01 and ordered two A319-100s with delivery in Mar-02. Engines will be IAE V2500s. The lease of two A330-200 via ILFC and four B737-800s for delivery in '03 has also been agreed.
All Nippon Airways [18-Apr]
has ordered three additional A320-200s, bringing their total orders for the type to 28. It is assumed that engines will be CFM56-5A1s.
Scandinavian Air System [18-Apr]
has converted one option for A330-300 to a firm order, bringing it's total orders for the type to 4. Engines will be RR Trent 772B6. They have also seven A343 on order.
ILFC [17-Apr]
has launched the B747-400ERF with a firm order for five aircraft. The first delivers is set for Oct-02. Two of the ERFs will apparently be operated by Air France. Engines are GE CF6-80C2B5Fs. This orders was disclosed on the 30-Apr-01 and was previously listed as undisclosed. The B744F customer census shows that total firm orders for the B747-400F are 95.
Midwest Express [10-Apr]
has signed a MOU for 20 B717-200s with another 30 options. Engines will be BR 715. First delivery is scheduled for February 2003, continuing at a rate of one 717 every month. The B717 customer census shows that total firm orders for the B717 are 154, with another 20 MOUs.
TACA [06-Apr]
has converted one option for A320-200 to a firm order, bringing it's total orders for the type to 35. Engines will be IAE V2527E-A5s.
LTU [04-Apr]
has signed a firm order for two A321-211. Engines of the 93t MTOW aircraft will be CFM56-5B3/P. This order is a conversion from two out of six options of the initial A32X order dated 05 May 2000. First delivery is scheduled for June 2003. The 93t version had previously been ordered by Spanair, US Airways, Air Canada and British Mediterranean. The A321 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A321 are 379.

MARCH-2001
ACJ - Airbus Corporate Jet [31-Mar]
has announced one additional order for the Airbus 319 CJ. It is assumed but unconfirmed that the order is for MSN 1468, powered by IAE V2527M-A5 engines. Customer could be the Venezuelan Government. Total ACJ orders are now standing at 12. This Bizjet order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
All Nippon Airways [27-Mar]
has signed a firm order for nine B767-300ERs. Engines will be CF6-80C2B6. Delivery is scheduled between March '02 and March '03. This order was initially listed as undisclosed by Boeing. Total B767-300ER orders are now standing at 476, with 17 from ANA.
Royal Air Maroc [23-Mar]
has signed a firm order for 10 B737-800s plus 10 options. Delivery is scheduled between June '03 and 2013. Total RAM B737NG orders are now for 5 -700 and 14 -800s. Earlier RAM announced an order for two B767-300ERs with delivery in January 2002.
Khalifa Airways [22-Mar]
has signed a MOU for 10 A320-200s, 5 A330-200 and 3 A340-500s. First delivery is scheduled for 2004.
Airtours Group [21-Mar]
has signed a LOI for 8 A320-200s and 13 A321-200s powered by CFM56-5B engines. Airtours International will operate four A320 and eight A321, whereas Premiair will operate four A320 and five A321. Delivery is scheduled between Feb '03 and June '04.

Uzbekistan Airlines [16-Mar]
has signed a LOI for 2 B767-300ER which will increase it's fleet of the type to four. Delivery is scheduled between Aug '02 and Sep '02.

CIT Aerospace [06-Mar]
has signed a firm contract for 20 B737-700 and five B757-300 with 5 options. Total CIT orders for the B737NG are now 30, 26 -700s and 4 -800s, however the lessor can change the subtypes as needed. The engines choice for the B757 has not been made. Delivery of the 737s are scheduled between March '03 and March '06 and between March '03 and March '04 for the B757. The B757-300 customer census shows that total firm orders for the type are 67.
Qantas Airways [06-Mar]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 29 Nov 00 for twelve A380-800s with another twelve options. Engines will be RR Trent 975. First delivery is scheduled for May 2006. The A380 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A380 are 12, with another 54 LOIs.
Air 2000 [06-Mar]
has signed a LOI for eight B757-200.
SALE [02-Mar]
is said to have signed a LOI for four A380-800s. Airbus disclosed an undisclosed customer for this total of orders, assumed to come from SALE.
Cathay Pacific [02-Mar]
is said to have signed a LOI for an additional A330-300 with RR Trent 772-B6 engines. Airbus has not yet confirmed this option conversion.
FEBRUARY-2001
GECAS [28-Feb]
has converted one option for A330-200 to a firm order. Total GECAS orders for the A330-200 are 17. The A330 customer census shows that total firm orders for the A330 are 378.

Finnair [01-Feb]
has converted an option for one A320-214 aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines to firm order. The delivery will take place in Mar-02. Total Finnair orders for the A319/20/21, are respectively 6, 9 and 4.
Air France [01-Feb]
has converted options for 1 A319-100 and 3 A321-200 to a firm order. Total AF orders for the A318/19/20/21 are respectively 15, 18, 27 and 8. The delivery of the CFM56-5B5/P and -5B3/P powered A319/A321s will start in Jan '02.
JANUARY-2001
Pembroke Capital [30-Jan]
has converted 2 B717 options to firm order, bringing it's total firm orders for the type to 27. The first order was signed on 31 Dec 1998, they have 13 additional options. Total B717 orders are now 153.

Jet Blue [29-Jan]
has converted 1 A320 option to firm order, bringing it's total firm orders for the IAE V2527-A5 powered type to 33. The first order was signed on 22 Apr 99, they have 17 additional options.
US Navy [24-Jan]
has announced 1 additional order for the Boeing 737-700C. Total -700C orders are now standing at 6. This military order is not taken up in the 2001 orders table.
Northwest Airlines [16-Jan]
has ordered 18 B757-300 and 2 B747-400, bringing the NW orders for the type to respectively 18 and 16. The 757-300s will be delivered between 2002 and 2004 and will be PW 2040 powered. The last two (19th and 20th) 753s are subject to reconfirmation, the later 757-300s may also be converted to 757-200s. Northwest has canceled 20 B752 out of an order for 25 B752 dated Oct-89. Worldwide B753 orders are 62. The two B747-400 will be powered by PW 4056 engines and will be deliverd in 2002. The NW Airbus order is listed in Dec-00.
American Airlines [16-Jan]
has converted four options for B737-800 and one for B757-200. The B757 will be RR RB211-535E4B powered. The delivery will take place respectively in Aug-02 and Jul-02. Total AAL for the types grow respectively to 118 and 125.
Federal Express [16-Jan]
has signed a MOU for 10 firm A380-800F and unconfirmed 5 options. The delivery will start in 1Q 2008 with 3 aircraft each in '08-'10. No engine choice has been made. The firm contract should be signed in June.
Xiamen Airlines [16-Jan]
has signed a firm order for two B757-200s, bringing their total orders for the type to 7. This order was listed as undisclosed and was made public on the 2nd October 2001.
GB Airways [03-Jan]
has converted options for 1 each A320 and A321 with IAE V2500s to firm order. They have one A320 and three A321 on order and have options for 3 other A32X. The LOI was signed back in Nov-98. Delivery is set for late 2002.
Continental Airlines [02-Jan]
has firmed up it's LOI dated 05 Oct 2000. The order covers 15 B757-300 with Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4B engines. The delivery will take place between Nov-01 and Jun-03. Total B753 orders are now 44.
United Parcel Service [02-Jan]
has signed an order for 58+2 firm A300-600F with 50 options. Delivery of the PW4158s powered A300-600Fs will take place between Feb-03 and Nov-06, if all options are taken up the delivery will stretch till 2009. Two of the orders are listed in Nov-00, total orders for the tpye are now 90.
