Description: The Aircraft Orders Forum is focussed on discussing upcoming and announced airliner orders, from RJs to SuperJumbos. Aircraft order news and rumours, airline fleet planning, views of insiders, engine selection and technical airplane vs airplane discussions are welcome topics.

Rules:

  1. Members need to be approved by the moderator - orders-owner@yahoogroups.com - and are put under moderation until the moderator allows them to post directly to the list.
  2. Posts are transmitted to orders@yahoogroups.com and will then be directly distributed to the members and posted on the orders website.
  3. The list can be read on the web, but members receive in addition either individual e-mails or daily digests.
  4. The language to be used on the list is English.
  5. New members have to introduce themselves.
  6. Attachments are not allowed and will automatically be removed.
  7. Quoted text should be limited to what makes sense. Messages bigger than 20k should be avoided.
  8. Reports of newswires can't be fully reproduced. The source has to be mentioned and copyright information has to be included.
  9. Off-topic postings have to be identified with the 'OT' label and should be *very* limited.
  10. Postings related to regional orders have to be identified with the 'REGIO' label.
  11. Postings of a more technical nature have to be identified with the 'TECH' label.
  12. Postings related to updates of web sites have to be approved by the moderator prior to posting and have to be identified with the 'WEB' label.
  13. Airbus vs. Boeing fights are not tolerated and will have as consequence the exclusion.
  14. Personal fights, graphic language and ads are not tolerated and will have as consequence the exclusion.
  15. Polls can only be posted by the moderators. If you have a suggestion contact us at orders-owner@yahoogroups.com.
  16. Members who won't respect the rules will be put under moderation. If no improvement is seen they will be excluded.

FEBRUARY-2003

Luxair [28-Feb] has ordered two B737-700 plus two options. First delivery will take place in Feb-04.
An undisclosed [26-Feb] customer has ordered two B737-700. Once further details are known an update will be posted.
JetBlue Airways [11-Feb] has firmed up options for two A320-232 with IAE V2527-A5 engines bringing it's total order for the type to 78. The delivery will take place in Dec-03. The first Jetblue A320 order was placed back on 21-Apr-99.
Iberia [04-Feb] has ordered an additional nine A340-642 plus three options to be powered by RR Trent 556-61 engines. Delivery is scheduled for 2004. Their first order for the subtype was placed on the 26-Jun-02. Total Iberia A346 orders are 12 with an additional 18 -300s. The firm order has not yet been confirmed.

JANUARY-2003

Cargolux [31-Jan] has ordered one additional B747-400F to be powered by RR RB211-524G/H-T engines. Delivery is scheduled for Apr-04. This brings their total -400F orders to 13.
CIT Leasing Corporation [31-Jan] has ordered one B737-800. The delivery date is not known. This is indeed a type conversion as they cancelled their last 757-300 order.
Ryanair [31-Jan] has ordered an additional 22 firm 737-800 plus 78 options. This brings their total firm orders for the B737-800 to 153 with 125 options. The first Ryanair B737NG order was placed back on 09-Mar-98.
Malaysia Airlines [10-Jan] has signed a MOU for six A380-800 with undisclosed engines. Three each will be delivered in 2007 ans 2008. Indeed MAS's holding company, Penerbangan Malaysia (PMB), has signed the MoU to purchase the aircraft.
Air Pacific [08-Jan] has signed a MOU for two A330-300 with undisclosed engine type. First delivery will be in Jun-05.
Cathay Pacific [08-Jan] has signed a MOU for six A300-600F plus four options with CF6-80C2A5F engines. First delivery will be in Nov-04.
Aeroflot [06-Jan] has firmed up it's LOI dated 18-Nov-02 and ordered six A319-112 and two A320-214 with respectively CFM56-5B6/P and 5B4/P engines. The delivery will stretch from Sep-03 till Oct-05. In addition four newly ordered A320 will be leased via GECAS which will be supplemented by six additional leased aircraft which GECAS has already on order. A preliminary announcement of the LOI was made on the 19-Jul-02.
China Airlines [06-Jan] has firmed up it's LOI and ordered 12 A330-300 plus 6 options with an undisclosed engine type. The delivery will stretch from 2004 till 2007. One A340-300 order was cancelled.
GECAS [06-Jan] has firmed up it's LOI dated 18-Nov-02 and ordered four A320-214 with CFM56-5B4/P engines. The delivery will take place in 2004 and 2005. These leased A320 will be supplemented by additional A319/320 which Aeroflot has ordered.
Qatar Airways [06-Jan] has ordered one additional A319-100 with IAE V2527-A5 engines and delivery in 2003. This brings their total A319 orders to 2.
