The Booger Band (1994-1996)

Vince Moya - bass
Chris Betlejemski - bass

Biography

The band was formed by Vince and Chris as a side project of Neophyte's Serendipity. Through August and September 1994 they recorded one self titled album on cassette released through Humpin' In The Back Room. The Humpin' catalogue described the album as:

"One drummer and a bass player, who could resist?" - Humpin 'Zine #1

Booger was put on the back burner for a bit and revived here and there but nothing much happened. There was "Project Dave" and "Son's Of Booger" projects as well but nothing materialized with them either. Project Dave might have had a mini appearance June 7th 1995 if you look at it technically. Booger was pretty much anytime Vince and Chris could get together after or before a show somewhere and play an impromptu set. Which explains the January 7th 1995 and January 20th 1995 appearances.

For two shows they were known as Vic Moya with The Booger Band, December 15th 1995 and December 17th 1995 before changing their name to Curtis Mathis.

The poster above was an ad for the Booger tape at Second Wave in 1994; it also mentions Project: Dave

Humpin' In The Back Room 'Zine, Issue #2 ran the following ad for their tape.

They had a mention in Humpin' In The Back Room 'Zine, Issue #7 which helps explain the "Son's Of Booger" project.

Boogers here and there:

- John (from Clayton) and I (from Curtis Mathis, Tinkersan, and Booger) have produced another bastard offspring, The S.O.B .. no.. not Sons of Bitches, not Salami on Bologna, not Speed on Brantford, not Skids on Butane, but Sons of BOOGER. Is it just like the old Booger? To say such a thing would disrespect the misguided times of Chris and I. But it is a Guitar and Drums project, with me on the drums instead of an upright or stand up instrument. We're working on stuff.. and as of now (this writing) we have about 12 songs. We're not however, gonna make a 90 minute cassette like the last Booger band. And will we finally include Dave in something?.. We don't know. Just don't be surprised to see a s.o.b. appearing sometime soon!

- A new Tinkersan tape? Maybe. Not if Curtis Mathis gets on that material first!

- Curtis Mathis/Cartoon Khaki split 7" is red vinyl. Out now. Get yours before Ania gets mad at us for using her mug shot! The recording is crisp for 33 1/3 speed. And the songs are great!
