Pill tape (Humpin' 016)

released April 1996

July 1st 1995, National Gallery of Canada, original tape cover

Recorded at Jan's house in April 1996 the master was mixed down to VHS tape. This album relieved our long hiatus of having an actual 4-track recorded album and not releasing live tapes. The last one being Don't Let A Stranger Touch Your Body. The album never had a name. People just called it the Pill tape in reference to the pills that are on the cover. Some called it Humpin' 016 a few even called it self-titled. However the Pill tape name stuck.

The cover is a photo that Rob took in Ottawa July 1st 1995 at the National Gallery of Canada. There was large room with five big pills in the middle and lots of smaller pills attached on all the walls of the room. It had something to do about the AIDS drug AZT.

The album had neat pictures that went with all the songs. It featured an out door jam at Clarence Street from March 17th 1996. We were told not to play inside the house so we decided to drag an extension cord out the basement window and set up outside. It was a Sunday and it was nice outside. We actually managed to play seven full songs. There was a lady across the street yelling at us to be quite since it was "the Sabbath" as she said. We got cut off during Sun One by the police. The cop said that it didn't matter if we played outside we just had to turn it down. Which was hard for Mark to do on the drums.

Unlisted on the tape cover the album also features Mark's Acid song in it's entirety. It appeared originally on Cosmic Festi but it was cut off on that tape. This time its the full version and cleaner sounding.
