The fauna

Despite Beos is a virtual fantaisy/SciFy world, the Fauna is built around real information.

Many contemporairy animals (like the wolf and the fox) exist in the Val-Amer, some are inxtinct(no more whale nor elephant or giant beast alike) and some have mutated. Listed here are the mutate only as everyone can pick up a definition of contemporairy animal in a good dictionnary.

All mammals share three characteristics not found in other animals: 3 middle ear bones; hair; and the production of milk by modified sweat glands called mammary glands.

Mammal:

Halech

The word "Halech" does not apply to a type of animals in particular but rather to a group of around twenty types, divided in five kinds. All the Haleches are Mammals.
The different types of Haleches vary size of a rat to the one of one and a half Vilem. Certain live in very dry environment while of others live in snowy mountain.
They advance on the plant of the feet that had outgrew in a sort of hoof on the inferior very powerful paws and have small anterior paws that they use like hands. The Southern Great Haleches are, on the other hand, ranging from Rust to Ebony.

Josek

These massive animals can weigh up to 3,000 pounds and reach 6 feet at the head. It provides a refreshing reddish drink with a strong taste. Josek nests along sea coasts, major waterways and lakes and eat exclusively the oil of fish they stop with the front hoof and pressures them down. Not a piece of meat nor skin is eaten and the oil empty carcass are going down the current, unless some scavenger takes advantage of the easy repast.

Renaat

The shaggy Renaat is a solitary animal. Taken from their homeland to become pets for Rich Vilem. Combat of Renaat male are an illegal but flourishing business in Cathargol. Claws are often enhance by the belligerent owner as to allow them to be more damageable for the opponent. The fur of this animal is all in gray shade, brown on the ventral part. Difference between male and female are only possible when the two gender are around each other. They are but a hand full tall, four paws and has a long tail with a spotted motif on it.

Jabbalt

Vilem refuse to considere that great "creature" as to be their equal. They are hunt and held like trophee. In their book, considerate a higly intellignet primate of the desert. It is describe has having hands and feet consisting of four fingers each, like the Oran. They have no hair nor fur, but are dressing themself and living in the desert.

Gjidësh

That is a strange marauding beast who lurks in the forest ways and swamps.Furry and silent-padded it is. The one who survived an attack from this beast confirm it, but no one is able to give a complete description. It runs under the very nose of the guards, silently climb the barricade and moves away with its shrieking victim, leaving only a trail of blood soon to be sucked up by the ground. After some day, the white bones, clean and stray with line of teeth is found near the walls of the city, covered with excrement. Like if the beast was naging the Vilem.

Qek

When threatened, it produces a foul smell that can provock nose bleeding. Living in burrow and seldomly seeing the light of the day, the Qek is eating plant from the root up. A truly desastrous plegue when it attack a field that they can deciminate in a night. They act in group. Smaller than an adult thumb and black long lustreous fur.

Fëkaman

They have a flattened shape skull with a long and narrow nostril. If they where not so wild, they will do good beast for cargo with their bulk stature. They are skilled swimmers that live near the water and eat aquatic invertebrates and small fish that they catch underwater. Three horns serves of defense system, well hidden under a wig type of black fur. The only other hair they have is at the tip of the tail.Hands and feet are webbed.

Pirprëp

They are small carnivores. Their body lengths is roughly a man hands.Most are rust, stripped with light brown to gray line in a lenght size.The claws are retractile and most have hairy soles. They can stand on the two posterior feet for a brief moment when needed. Teeth are sharp like neddle.Big golden eyes, pointed snouts, and short, rounded ears that are moving around nervously.Their meals include a wild range of species, but they mostly eat snakes and are resistant to their poison.

Hodiër

This predator is only counting on its nose to allow it to hunt. Eye sight is very restricted to the Front and earing to the side. They are omnivorous with a high taste for Haleck. They hunt in clan and are constantly growling to make their presence known by the other of the clan. That growl is near imperciptible for a Human or an Haleck, but some birds (like the Sorvë that like to feed himself on the Läse accumulating on the haleck back) can give the alarm unmistakably.

Lakeens

Lakeens are miniature to medium-sized animals that look a lot like bulky rodent. All lakeens have an analogous body silhouette, with a skull place parallel up of the body, four legs which getting out from the sides, and a weighty beefy tail. Their eyes are on the side of their cranium. Lakeens may be tan, jade, or burgundy in color. They are lacto-vegetarian, feeding on a variety of flowering shrubs and higher plants. Ninj

Nijn are almost totally flat. They hide in the sand of the desert, feeding on shrubs and cacti. Occasionally, they eat some rare desert fruits and insects. Nasals are compact and flaps of skin are able to close the nostrils. They generate two sort of fecal stuff, one that is wet and, and one that is dry. While the last one is discarded, the first one is eaten again for further nutrient absorption.

Oran

They have many color variants. Most of them are black otherwise olive or cobalt, with the black in bands or spots. These green and fawn colored birds live a long life laying two eggs every year. They are known for their loud piercing scream and also repute for their Meat and fat.
