Winner of two back to back contest Oct - Nov contest and Nov-Dec Contest
![]() These images are from Alberta Canada. I photograph with a Canon EOS 3 (35mm) and a Pentax 645N.
Here's how these images were made:
![]() Edmonton, Alberta at dawn: This is a 4 minute exposure. It started with no filters on the camera. After about one minute, I added one 1 stop neutral density filter. At about the 3 minute mark, I added the second 1 stop neutral density filter.
![]() Jasper-1: 30 second exposure with one 1 stop neutral density filter and one 1 stop pink neutral density filter
![]() Johnson Lake: This was was about a 20 second exposure at f22 with the BLUE filter and a 2 stop neutral density filter. This image was shot about 2:00pm in the afternoon
![]() Lake-Louise: This image is a 20 minute exposure after dusk. I started with a 1 stop mauve grad filter, 1 stop neutral density grad filter, and one 2 stop neutral density filter to cover the sky portion of the image. After about 5 minutes, I removed a one 1 stop neutral density filter. After about the 10 minute mark, I removed the 2 stop neutral density filter. After 15 minutes I removed the one stop mauve grad filter. During this time, I "light-painted" the foreground rocks with a 100,000 candlepower Mag-lite flashlite for a total time of about 2 minutes.
Our Oct - Nov contest winner
