Two Gold medalist, KN Lai fought back strongly to win her individual Masters Gold medal

Saturday, 15th September 2001 -  Two gold medalist, Lai Kin Ngoh fought back strongly from 9th position in the 1st block finals yesterday to topple the Filipinas to win her first individual Gold medal.

Kin Ngoh was 171 pins down going into the 2nd block this morning and she did flawlessly to give Malaysia her 7th Gold medal with a total score of 3,544 pinfalls.

Two silver medalist, Irene Garcia of the Philippines tops 1st block Masters finals 

Friday, 14th September 2001 - Two silver medalist, Irene Garcia of the Philippines will be hoping to score herself a Gold medal in the Women's Masters when she topped the pack with a score of 1,717 pinfalls. She was 31 pins ahead of teammate, Liza del Rosario in second with 1,686.

Gold for Malaysia in Women's Team of Five and All Events

Thursday, 13th September 2001 -  Lai Kin Ngoh, Sharon Chai, Wendy Chai, Sarah Yap and Shalin Zulkifli stormed to a convincing win in the Team event for Malaysia's fifth Gold Medal of the competition.

The team scored a massive 6,260 pinfalls, 299 pins ahead of the Philippines comprising of Liza Clutario, Josephine Canare, Irene Garcia, Liza del Rosario and Cecilia Yap.

Malaysia wins fourth Gold in Women's Trios    

   

Wednesday, 12th September 2001 - Lai Kin Ngoh, Sarah Yap and Singles Gold medalist, Shalin Zulkifli stormed home in the 2nd block of the Women's Trios event to win Malaysia's fourth Gold medal. Lai (1,222), Sarah (1,202) and anchored by Shalin (1,319) scored a combined total of 2,643 pinfalls ahead of 1st block leader Philippines to win by a comfortable margin.
