Fantasy Football '97 Head
to Head - Carlos vs. Luis Week 2 Reviews - Thursday, September 11h Week 2 of the Head-To-Head matchup between the Curro Brothers had an interesting factor. As both Carlos and Luis had some tough weeks, they completely forgot to set-up new starting lineups for the second week! As a rule, they had to carry over their previous lineup from Week 1. Luis Curro was the most penalized by the owners mistake, as he had to carry an injured Jerry Rice into week two:
This second week turned out to be a very thrilling one. Early games going on, and again QB Drew Bledsoe put Luis ahead with 4 TD passes, and a TD by RB Curtis Martin. Also again, Carl Pickens was the only source of early offense for Carlos, with a TD. Then, as the Carolina offense struggled one more time, it appears they'd go scoreless, but John Kasay hit three late field goals to tighten up Luis lead to 18-15. Barry Sanders scored late on the Detroit game, as Carlos took a 21-18 lead going into the late (4 pm) games, where the Green Bay-Philadelphia was the most important one, with Carlos "Packer Attack" and Luis's Freeman and Boniol. But the game was awfully bad for the Packers, as no TD's were scored by them! Boniol hit a FG and an extra-point, to lift Luis 22-21 over Carlos. It appeared Carlos couldn't do anything else, until his last player scored: a 2-Point conversion from Elway to TE Shannon Sharpe! Again, a late come from behind effort by Carlos (2-0) to defeat Luis (0-2). Final Score (Week 2): Carlos 23, Luis 22. Standings: Carlos 2-0, Luis 0-2.
