NAME: Willow Rosenberg AGE: 18 HEIGHT: 5’ 6” SKILLS:Computers, Witchcraft HAIR: Red CASE HISTORY: Budding computer genius, apprentice witch, adorable hacker, trustworthy loyal friend... her character development is one of the most marked on the show. During season one, Willow was cripplingly shy, extremely lost in love with her best friend Xander, and usually seeming to have absolutely no life of her own. Second season, little better -- except, every now and again Willow would find the backbone to make a stand of her own. Slowly, she became secure enough in her place on the Slayer Squad to really develop depth. She finally began to get over her crush on Xander, and started on a healthy relationship with Oz, who seems to be very good for her. Now, it's third season, and almost nothing is left of the shy, meek little Willow of Season One. Note her increasing interest and proficiency in magic. Even much of her hesitant manner of speaking has evaporated, and though her relationship with Oz was slightly stilted by her "fluke" with Xander, it looks to be going back on track. Perhaps underneath, she still loves Xander and is frantically repressing it... or perhaps she really has grown out of it, and the liason was nothing more than a result of lingering crush feelings which are now gone. Who can say for sure? Only Joss. Sadly, Willow's character development seems to have ground to a halt. What's left for her to develop? She's the perfect best friend to Buffy, perfect girlfriend to Oz, perfect apprentice to Giles, perfect Slayerette/witch in the group. The only thing that's going wrong is her relationship with Xander. Ever since the "clothes fluke" they aren't even friends any more -- she's far, far closer to Oz and Buffy now, and her years of best-friendness with Xander are behind her. In a way it's kind of tragic. If Xander was unwilling to get into a relationship with her because he was afraid it would destroy their friendship... then you have to admit, it looks like he was right all along.
