Meditation Hints

* Practice
* If your mind starts to wander, don't get frustrated, you're not ruining the meditation. Just let the thought drift away. The more you practice, the easier it will be to focus.
* Many people fall asleep during meditation. When your body is used to lying still and shutting your eyes, it thinks it's time for sleep and it takes time for your body to get used to this idea of meditation. Eventually, with practice, you'll stop falling asleep. If you do fall asleep, it means you needed the rest!
* Say positive affirmations daily. Do not use words like "can't" "not" "won't", etc.

Basic Angel Meditation

Find a relaxing room in your house, or if the weather is nice, go outside and sit by a tree or on your patio. Pick a time when all is quiet around you. You don't want to deal with disturbances while you are meditating. Learn to switch times to make it convenient for yourself.

Take three deep breaths, relaxing your body with each breath. Find your center (near your navel) and continue to relax. Imagine your body connecting firmly to the earth - you are one with the universe.

Take another deep breath and envision an angel in front of you. This angel will touch the top of your head, sending healing, relaxing energy flowing down through you. Feel the energy moving through your body, pushing out negativity that's stuck and refuses to move.

Many people now tell various parts of their body to relax. For example "Down through the top of my head, relaxing the muscles around my eyes, my nose, and my mouth. Down through my neck, my shoulders, aupper arms, and lower arms. Down through my chest, down my back, into my stomach muscles, through my hips," etc.

Now envision a second angel before you. This one brings purity and alignment to your body. Follow the same procedure as before, watching and feeling the energy move from the top of your head down through your body, and out the bottom of your feet. This angel pulls in universal love. Many people experience a tingling or floating sensation at this point. This is normal.

The third angel is responsible for helping your align your chakra centers (the seven energy vortexes in your body). Chakra means "wheel" in Sanskrit; many individuals see the chakras as spinning disks, or spirals of energy. We will also be opening a new chakra, often linked to angelic matters and the cosmic consciousness, called the thymus chakra.

As the angel touches you, each vortex will unfurl, like a pair of wings, and vibrate its appropriate color. First, open the crown chakra (located at the top of your head) and envision a pair of white wings unfurling and opening, then open each chakra with colored wings as listed below:
Second chakra: Middle of forehead - purple
Third chakra: Throat - blue
Fourth chakra: Thymus (between the throat and heart) - pink or aquamarine
Fifth chakra: Heart - green
Sixth chakra: Navel area - yellow
Seventh chakra: Stomach - orange
Eighth chakra: Groin - red
Envision a final angel coming toward you. As this angel touches you, a bubble of pure white light will surround your body. Relax and let yourself drift into the sensation of feeling safe and secure.

Close the chakra centers, beginning at the groin and working your way up to the crown. Take three deep breaths, and ground and center again. Then open your eyes. Keep track of your meditation progress in your angel journal.

Angel Eyes

"Angel Eyes", from Silver RavenWolf's book "Angels: Companion in Magick" (along with much info I have learned and display here), allow you to look at yourself in a different way, to see how your decisions affect those around you and/or how you fit into a situation. This meditation can also help you with psychism.

Follow the Basic angel meditation but do not close up the chakras. Concentrate on aligning your essence with angelic energy (this may come to you as a tingling sensation, heat, or feeling enveloped in a sense of warmth and love. It comes to each person differently).
Think about your question or situation in your mind that you need clarification on. In your mind, say the following:
I ask for assistance from the angelic energies in [name the situation].
Relax. You may see answers in your mind or an intuitive message on it right away, or you may not see anything at all. Just let yourself float and don't force the issue. Sometimes answers come after the meditation is over. If it never does come to you, it may be that it's not time for you to know, and maybe will come to you later in life.
Thank the angels and Ground and Center. Be sure to record your experiences in your journal.
