Tidus is a very cheerful and, slightly naive, man. He is also very altheltic, and is one of the best Blitz Ball players. Tidus played for the Zanarkand Abes in his "Dream Zanarkand," and when he came to Spira, Wakka asked him to play for his team.

Tidus is the main male character of the story, and basically, he is the main character of the whole story. When you first meet him, he is in his Zanarkand, about to play a blitz ball game. Sin brings him to Spira, where his journey begins.

Tidus first meets Rikku, as an Al Bhed, but then he falls off the boat and meets Wakka. He next meets Lulu, then Kimahri, then Yuna. (He had already met Auron.)

Tidus has a father, Jecht, who at first, you believe he really, truely does hate. You later find out that Jecht would tease Tidus of being a cry-baby, but he really did love Tidus.

Jecht was a guardian for Yuna's father, Braska, and helped Braska summon the final Aeon. The problem was that, when Braska summoned the aeon, Jecht was turned into Sin. Tidus, in the end, has to kill Sin, or his father, and you figure out that Tidus really did love Jecht.

Tidus also loves another person, Yuna. Their relationship is not one of those "Love at first site" relationships. Instead, they start out being really close friends, leaving little hints that they like eachother. When Tidus found out Yuna would die when she summoned the final aeon, he instantly was sorry for being so happy on defeating sin. When he talked to her, she cried, and he was there for her, saying he would take her to his Zanarkand. When she still cried, he comforted her by kissing her.

There is one problem with Tidus though, he is just a dream. 1,000 years ago, Zanarkand was destroyed by sin. The fayth that had memories of Zanarkand kept it alive by dreaming, Tidus being part of their dreams. The problem is that the fayth are tired of dreaming, so once they stop, Tidus will disappear. They will stop dreaming when Sin is finally defeated, so when Yuna does defeat Sin, Tidus disappears.
