INTERNATIONAL VISITS 2001

There are three International trips involving girls and/or leaders travelling as representatives of the county this summer:

  • POLAND
  • SWEDEN
  • MEXICO

The trip to Poland is to the town of Kielce, reinforcing links previously made with the Guide and Scout Associations in the area.

A vacancy has recently arisen in this group so if you are interested and would like further details please contact the County International Adviser HAZEL KAZER directly as soon as possible.
It does not matter whether you are a Guide, Ranger, Young Leader or Leader as long as you are available to go from 12th. July - 28th. July this year (next month!)

The Sweden group is travelling to Rinkaby, in southern Sweden, to attend Scout 2001, the international jamboree along with 26,700 Scouts and Guides from 44 different countries (see this page)! Afterwards they will be travelling to Norrkoping, south-west of Stockholm, to stay with some of the Scouts and their families.

Two of the girls from the East Riding were put forward for selection by the North East England Region and one of them Mikaela Hulme, was delighted to be selected to go to Mexico! Along with a group of girls from all over the NEE region, she will be spending eight days at Our Cabana (one of the World Centres) and afterwards will seeing a little more of the country before returning home.
