Academy In an effort to Bring You Technology Education that is informative and fun, we are hosting an academy of classes for the advancement of technology skills on the computer. CEU credits are offered each class completed. Unless otherwise indicated, all workshops will be held at Vaughn Road Elementary School. Due to limited space, applicants must register and will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. Point and Click? Using Your Schools Digital Camera and Scanner: This workshop is designed to introduce the use of Digital Cameras and Scanners to capture images and manipulate them on your computer. (Workshop difficulty is beginner) ___ Tuesday, June 18, 2002. 9:00-11:00 a.m. What can I do with Alabama Virtual Library?: You will find out why Alabama Virtual Library is so important plus be given some really neat ideas for incorporating AVL in your curriculum by attending this workshop. ___ Wednesday, June 19, 2002. 9:00-11:00 a.m. Applications: Microsoft Word, part 1: This workshop is designed to introduce word-processing. Screen elements, text entry, text selection, text editing, and text formatting are some of the topics that will be covered. (Workshop difficulty is beginner.) ___ Thursday, June 20, 2002. 9:00-11:00 a.m. ltimate Writing and Creativity Center: This program is designed to build Reading and Writing skills in 2nd 6th grade students. (Workshop difficulty is beginner.) ___ Tuesday, July 9, 2002. 9:00 11:00 a.m. Teacher-"Friendly" Templates: This workshop is designed to teach beginners how to make useable templates for book reports, lesson plans, permission forms, etc. You will need to bring one-two 3.25" floppy disks that have been formatted. ___ Wednesday, July 10, 2002. 9:00-11:00 a.m. Applications: Microsoft Excel, part 1: This workshop is designed to introduce the use of spreadsheet software. Topics will include entering, formatting, calculating, and displaying data.
