Biographical
Data Elizabeth Petty Bentley I am a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, raised in Baltimore, Maryland, graduate of Vermont College, a long time resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, and now live near Frederick, Maryland. My first mainstream novel, The Fly on the Rose, was released by PublishAmerica. I've had seventeen short stories published in small press magazines, as well as in Jane Yolen's collection, Things That Go Bump in the Night, for young adults, and an adult story in Analog Science Fiction and Fact. A picture book, Just Not the Same, was published by Houghton Mifflin, and One, Two, and Three: What Does Each One See?, a concept book on perspective, by Millbrook Press. My two picture books and most of my short fiction, as well as about 200 poems, appeared under my pen name, Addie LaCoe, which I've now discarded. I'm a genealogist by profession and have produced over twenty books under my own name for Genealogical Publishing Company in Baltimore. Most successful is The Genealogist's Address Book. My husband and I owned and operated a small, independent bookstore in Westfield, Massachusetts, for nine years. We are converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We have six children, eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren |
