Dark Impulses - During the course of training to become a P'au, Delvians become vulnerable to succumbing to madness, or the "dark impulses." While the darkness itself is normal, the act of "reaching down and pulling them up" in order to accelerate training causes trouble. According to Zhaan, each P'au must learn for themselves how to control the Dark Impulses.

D'Argo, Ka - A fierce Luxan warrior. His wife was a Sebacean and he was falsely accused of her murder by her vengeful Peacekeeper brother and murderer. Their young son, Jothee, is still alive out there somewhere.

Deep Space Interna-Thermia - D'Argo suffered from this after being in space for 30 minutes (1/2 arn). Luxans can only survive in space for 15 minutes (1/4 arn) before this begins.

Defense Screen (DS) - Peace Keeper defense screens against weapons fire, such as the one aboard the Zelbinion, are composed of two different screens stacked one on top of the other. One-half of the DS was scavenged from the Zelbinion and brought aboard Moya, but whether or not it's been installed successfully is still unknown. Technology developed by the Peace Keepers.

Delvia - Homeworld of Zhaan.

Delvian - This long-lived, blue-skinned, plant-based race worships a god/goddess named Khaalan. Depending on their skill level, they have the ability to move at great speed, alleviate pain or, if inclined, inflict pain. Delvians are affected by different forms of light. A 'highly spiritual race, thoughtful and peace loving'.

Delvian Missionary Transport - This huge spacecraft was driven into the surface of the planetoid New Moon of Delvia by P'au Tuzak and his followers. The ship, incorporated into their temple, is difficult to detect from space (noted by Aeryn).

Delvian Seek - Religious order on Delvia.

Delvian Wanta Chant - A chant to increase work efficiency.

Denea - Planet on which Moya lands and submerges herself in the swamps in an attempt to quiet the Paddac Beacon. Clorium is a common element on this planet.

Deneans - Inhabitants of the planet Denea. They have never before had contact with alien species.

Dental (or Dentic) - A white grub used for cleaning teeth. They remove bacteria and undigested food particles. Not to be swallowed. They leave a slight peppermint flavour.

Diagnostic Repair Drones - See DRD's.

Docking Bay - On a Peace Keeper ship the Prowlers are kept here.

Docking Web - Like a tractor beam, this device is used to bring other ships aboard Moya.

Drad - Word meaning cool or radical.

Draks - Insect space living life form (akin to giant cockroaches) who are ruled by a Monarch. They want their nest left alone until they complete their breeding cycle - a warm environment quickens the cycle. They can take DNA samples (genetic code) of anyone (or thing) and create replicants - these try to overpower the crew.

Dren - Alien swear word best relating to that wonderful 4-letter word that begins with "s." "You pile of dren!"

DRD - Common acronym for "Diagnostic Repair Drones." Leviathan ships such as Moya are equipped with these. They are completely mechanical, hence Moya only has a limited number of them. They are maintenance units and roam around the ship mostly following Moya's orders, although Pilot does seem to have control over them as well.
