So many people with each their own clique

A politition stands up, wags their finger
They shake their head, but nothing they do
People scream at fur covered models earning their keep
But humans need iron from red meat to eat
An eye for an eye is what the bible might say
But that second eye - who keeps the enforcer at bay
We all have money and shed tears for the poor
Yet later we still have money, the poor still need more

I look around, forward to something ahead
At people with televisions right next to their bed
Shows replace books and classics now movies
People with junk food, fast cars, mobiles, cancer

A child enters the world with innocence
They take their first steps, into the church for penence

They open their first book - are told what's on TV
They eat and eat - gluttony - now their greedy

We say we are civilised, what is civilisation?
Order, laws, command, justice, government
We say we are advanced, where is this advancement?
Computers, CDs, penecilin, atomic bombs?
We say this is a great world, what's so great?
Cities, love, zoos, ozone holes, disappearing forests?
We say we are happy, but who are we?
Upper class, middle, or the lower, poor, naive?

I take another bite and soon am full
The emotions, they fill me and I feel so cruel
The words I speak are daggers so deep
I say the truth and I'm assumed a creep

A dagger I throw, it cuts so deep
The step I took, it was a leap
The path I went down, was not straight
A crooked way, for life I'm late

A way I use is tread so well
To signify this to others, I ring a bell
Made clear, you know now, stay away
I love life such, a game to play

I hurt who I like, I love like I hurt
This life so similar to the trodden dirt
Confused, I'm made, corresponding to life
Which way at crossroads, I'm left in strife

My heart now is worn, is left to dry
I've hurt, I've loved, I now will cry
But they deserved what the got
The pain I delt was to be their lot

So I take a step and choose a path
I choose to deal with my life's aftermath
I turn to those pained, I am sorry
They still look hurt so I now worry

Are these things reversable
Or at least transferable
These lessons learnt will cause you pain
