What's going on around here?

Mt. Saint Helen's erupted for the 1st time since 1986. Many soldiers have ventured out to get a look at the volcanic mountain.

On 3 October there was an "Apple Squeeze" in the town of Steilacoom, WA (a local community area). A few members of D Co witnessed the creation of apple cider, and enjoyed the craft booths.

The three weeks of summer are long gone for those here at Ft. Lewis. Everyone has come accustomed to the daily meteorologist's report. "Today will be mostly cloudy with a 70% chance of rain…"

Commander's Corner

Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you all healthy and in good spirits. We at Delta Company have been very busy performing our duties superbly. The soldiers continue to receive high praises from the Battalion, Brigade and Provost Martial Office for their excellent work. Your soldiers are back on 8 hour shifts after working 12 hour shifts for about 2 months. During the time we worked 12 hour shifts, we were able to allow the remaining soldiers who hadn't taken leave, the opportunity to do so. The holidays are fast approaching and we are working to develop a plan that would allow us to take some leave in December. I want to assure you all that we will work this issue as hard as we can. The bottom line is this… we are here to perform a mission and it has to be met. Current mission manning requirements takes every available MP in the company. You have my promise in that I will do all I can to give everybody an opportunity to see their family during this Christmas season. Thank you all for your continued support.

Respectfully,
Lance A. McCoy
Company Commander
