A closer look into the relationships seen in this complex anime

This anime is actually kind of complex when it comes to relationships between the characters. For example, Miaka and Yui were seen a very good friends in the beginning, but later you see them as bitter enemies. Also, many love triangles and other strange sorts of relationships exist in this show, and this chart clarifies them. There are also many other characters not shown here, as well as the characters that will come into "play" (heheh) in the second series.
