Alternative Web Sites
The sites listed on this page are not what I would consider geared for helping treat depression specifically. What they do offer are various ways in which one can find happiness through self-reflection, self-awareness and so on. They attempt to help people find their true potential, something that we are all born with. And in the end if they can help with easing the affects of depression then all the better. I myself use some of these techniques myself.

Some of the web sites I've found through surfing the net and others from some of the books I have read.
None of the sites are a substitute for professional help, I'm just trying to give you additional possibilities.

Kabala.org in their own words,  "Helping individuals of all faiths become better people by evaluating and changing their lives through words of wisdom."  These words arise out of ancient Jewish wisdom.  Note that you don't have to be of Jewish faith to appreciate these ancient words.
Alternative Therapies for Depression from WholeHealthMD, page provides and overview of three types of alternative theapies for Depression. These include Acupuncture, Massage with Aromatherapy Oils and Reiki. It is important to note that these treaments appear to help in cases of mild depression. There is no mention of how successful in more severe cases of depression.
The Healing Power of Color from New Age On-line Australia an article that goes into the history of color and its uses in healing. At the bottom of the article is a listing of several colors and there affects. This article reminds me of a time when I went to the local police station as a kid on a tour. The officers told us the the cells were painted that color (pink) because of its known calming effects on people.
Interview with God this site was pointed out to me by a great friend, who also suffers from depression. What I really found interesting is that he too found it a peaceful site, even with his lack of strong religious faith. Click on "view presentation", sit back listen to the music and read. You may need to install the necessary plug-in. But it will be worth it. Thanks Wayne NEW
