Where would the digidestined be without Izzy? Possibly in another dimension.
Would they have every figured out the cards without Izzy? Somehow I don't think so.
As viewers we might not have understood what the digital world is without Izzy's explaination.
Izzy got Mimi out of the labernith,(of course she probably wouldn't have gone in with out him there to begin with, but then Izzy wouldn't have figured out that the digivices were powerful(knowledge which helped against Leomon).)
Izzy helped out a lot in finding Sora's Crest. They probably would have never found it without him, or defeated Myotismon without him figuring out the prophesy. If he hadn't put up the digital barrier, his parrents probably would not be there to help.
Ken probably would still be the Digimon Emporer if Izzy hadn't been there to help out with the plan.
What about Izzy's DNA digivolving explaination, Izzy's idea of highton view terrace as the common event, and him calling Wormmon while Ken talked to Arukenimon? The reacter would have blown up if Izzy hadn't made that phone call.
Izzy has not only been nessessary to the world's and his friend's fate, but he has made the show more interesting with his theories, explaintions, and comedy act (ep 31 "The Eighth Digivice" the funniest season one episode of Digimon (atleast I think so!)). Without Izzy season 1 wouldn't be the same.
