Koji and Takuya Rule!
Koji and Takuya have changed a lot throughout season 4 and they have both helped each other along the way. Koji wouldn't be the person he is without Takuya, and Takuya wouldn't be the person he is without Koji.
Takuya went to the Digital World because he was bored and didn't want to miss out. Destiny sounded "kind of important" to him and he was the very first to get a spirit. He goes to the digital world looking for fun and adventure. He cares for others feelings and doesn't like running away from a fight. He gains confidence, battle after battle, and has fun making a good plan in "Ladies and Gentleman: the Beetlemon" that everyone involved follows which I thought was cool (must Be fun!). Takuya has courage like Tai, but the voice of Matt; and like Matt, Takuya has a younger brother. He fights with his younger brother a lot, but loves him just the same. He views Tommy as another little brother, and tries to be the caring big brother who prevents the younger one from feeling sad. He thinks about the immediate situation instead of the big picture, viewing it all as a big fun adventure until after Koji talks with him and one of his plans fails (as Koji predicted). His esteem becomes low and he heads back to the real world where he thinks more about what Koji had said. When Koji took the blow for him, it really affected him, especially since he knew Koji had been right. Thus, Koji helped him to become a better team leader and a new person. Why he was needed in the Digital World finally sinks in. His importance to the mission was in front of his face the whole time, but his growing confidence had blinded him from the dangerous reality he was in. Since his focus has changed and his mind is clear he starts to notice stuff he didn't before, things that the other digidestined haven't noticed either because each of them has too much else on their minds. Takuya learns how to control nature in the Digital World powering up himself and his teammates. Koji had been doing well, considering it was two against one, and fended off the two for a long time. It got to the point where he was in desperate need of Takuya's help, and Takuya impressed all of them with his new attitude and control of the forces of nature. He truly saved them all, at that moment, and learned what it truly means to be a Digimon! Personally, I loved this change in Takuya- a lot more focused on the mission- Yippie! What he did was incredibly awesome. It's like Takuya as a person had digivolved to the next level like Matt wanted to do. Takuya's a powerful Digimon and proud of it. He defeats Iceleomon, Shadowseraphimon, Mercurymon and others all by himself. He also possesses my favorite attack names: "Dragon Fire Cross Bow" "Wild Fire Tsunami! Aaa!"
Koji has awesome kendo moves. Even when he wasn't a Digimon he did well against the Pagumon. He's always focused on the big picture and thinks with his head more than his heart. He's taken his call to be a Digimon seriously, and has known since the beginning that they are on a dangerous mission. He didn't come to the digital world to play games. He was interrupted while he was in the middle of doing something, thought the call was probably important, and hoped he wasn't wasting his time. Not having any brothers and sisters he was able to observe how little kids and others acted. He never hated Tommy, but just didn't want someone to get in the way of their mission and what they needed to accomplish. In the beginning of "The Island of Misfit Boys," I think Koji's view was that Tommy was an obstacle that needed to stop being an obstacle and learn how to help. Takuya's actions made Tommy more of an obstacle to their mission and wasn't helping or even trying to think of accomplishing their goal. Because of his background and knowing Kendo, Koji felt like he could take care of himself. He probably noticed that the others weren't as prepared or as focused as he was, so they became more obstacles he had to deal with because he felt an obligation to care for their safety. When Takuya talked about imagining Tommy as his little brother and imagining that he could prevent a little kid from crying, that changed Koji's point of view because he had never thought of that before. He had been too focused on the mission and their safety (which is most important anyway) to even think about feelings, but now he started to take feelings into consideration too. Being concerned about the safety of others is anything but selfish, as Takuya misunderstandingly accused Koji in that episode. Koji was just worried and focused on the future. He is a brave logical person who felt responsible like Joe. He became more of a teamplayer by sticking with them and tried to make the others, especially Takuya, understand why they are there: that they are on a serious mission. Koji didn't care what he had to do as long as it helped them get a step closer to their goal with everyone as safe as possible. He gave into their wishes of wanting to have fun and all five of them became good friends. (Koji, Zoe, and JP all trying something new. Don't know about Takuya, but hey it works!) Koji was happy when Takuya finally realized why he was there. Then, they had a complete team with all members focused. When Koji's alone again it doesn't matter, nothing new. He's brave, fights hard, and holds his own well. After all the struggle against Duskmon, Bewolfmon takes him on alone, would have destroyed Duskmon, had Churubimon had not intervened. He leaves the group to seek answers to what Ophonimon said would become clear. He knows he has to act quickly, and with everyone talking as they were, there was no time to explain. He is shocked to find out that he has a brother and doesn't want to fight him. While Koji, for the only time ever, lets his emotions get in the way, Takuya was there thinking clearly and gave Koji an awesome speech. Minutes later when Takuya was in danger, Koji fusion evolved and purified his brother from the darkness. He didn't know how to act towards a brother because he had never had one and Takuya gave him good advice. All five of them are now very good friends, with his brother as the outsider.
Then in a battle after unified spirit evolving Koji displays knowledge of great strategy.
Koji is the brains and Takuya is the brawn. They put up an awesome fight with everyone routing for them. Takuya and Koji have human spirits and beast spirits, like the others, but they can fusion evolve, and unified spirit evolve with ten spirits of the legendary warriors helping them. Together they have defeated most of their adversaries, and together they helped each other grow.
