  • Numbers are limited for all trainings, so to avoid disappointment apply as early as possible.

  • The application forms at the rear of the newsletter should be used for all the trainings unless otherwise stated in the training description.

  • For all trainings please complete one form per person per training. Photocopy extra forms, if needed.

  • Once you have posted your application form and fee then you are booked on that training unless you hear to the contrary. If you wish to receive confirmation of a training place, please send a stamped self-addressed envelope with your application.

  • Applications received once a training is full will be put on a reserve list and the individual notified. If a space does not become available then the fee will be returned. If demand dictates then another session will be arranged as soon as possible.

  • The closing date for all trainings is two weeks ahead of the date. It may be possible to take late bookings, in which case, please telephone the contact, not the trainer, to check if places are available. If so, please send in the application form and fee straight away to reach the organiser before the training date.

  • Where possible please send the fee as a cheque made payable to 'GLK Training' or'GLK Guides Outdoor Activities' for trainings with an OA prefix. Only one cheque is needed when you book a number of sessions. If you send coins please stick them firmly in the bottom corner of the form so that they will not dislodge during transit. Addition of a cardboard cover or something similar will make it less obvious that money is enclosed and help to prevent petty pilfering.

  • Uniform appropriate to the training should be worn.

  • The trainings start sharp at the time indicated in the programme. Please allow plenty of time to get to the venue.

  • The venue will normally be open twenty minutes before the training starts when free tea and coffee will be available.

  • To help locate the venues' details of their location, car parking etc can be found towards the end of the newsletter.

Unexpected events or illness happen to the best of us, so if you find you cannot attend a training please let the contact know, however last minute. A message can be left on my answer machine if I am not there. It is not sufficient for colleagues to apologise for your absence when they attend the training as this could prevent others attending..

At the end of most training sessions you will be asked to complete an evaluation form. This provides useful information for the P & T Co-ordinator and the trainer(s) who took the session. It gives you a chance to tell us what you particularly enjoyed and found helpful as well as areas that were, to you, less than satisfactory. The evaluation form is also your way of telling us what trainings you would like us to arrange and what you thought of the suitability of the venue.
