glue's Comment:
This was the very first CD I bought. It got me into Bossa Nova.
When I got this album, I didn't even know the difference between
samba and Bossa. It still is my number one album, which contains
the very best of the Antonio Carlos Jobim's pieces, performed by
various reknowned artists. These great artists gave personal
interpretations of Jobim's masterpieces.
My favorites are , Desafinando, Wave, and Waters of March.
Waters of march, performed by Jobim and Elis is a beautiful piece in
perfect harmony. Ella Fitszerald's Desafinando makes me happy
every time I listen to it! and Wave, by Oscar peterson... it wowed me
completely. I don't know how to describe this great performance!

glue's Comment:
I bought this album, because I wanted to listen to Vivo Sonhando,
which I performed at my first Bossa Nova flute concert.
My favorite is, Corcovado, which lyric is nice. Corcovado is
the name of the mountain on which the enormous statue of
Christ stands with arms stretched, watching over the city of Rio.
I've never visited Rio, but I'd like to see Corcovado from my
room window one day, hopefully with my boyfriend!

13. Palpite Infeliz
glue's Comment:
This was the third Bossa Nova album I've purchased.
She's not well known in foreign countries, but is the leading
Bossa Nova artist in Japan.
Lisa herself is a second generation Japanese-Brazilian, who
contributed to popularize Bossa in Japan. This album is her
tenth album, and her focus was to return to the roots of Bossa.
That's probably why this album is filled with standard Bossa
masterpieces. To me, her interpretation of Bossa seems close
to the original Bossa. Very soft, warm, but well controlled.
Instantly, this became one of my favorite albums, and Lisa
became my favorite artist!
My favorite piece is Chega de Saudade. For me, instrumental
performance is very important. The opening sound of flute is
very nice! I tried to imitate the melody with my flute, but was
quite hard... well, very hard with my poor technique... but one day,
I will master the ad-lib in the middle!

10. Sampa
11. Smiled at Me
12. I Wish You Love
glue's Comment:
Together with Jobim, Joao was an essential figure in Bossa Nova
development. To be honest, his voice makes me sleepy sometimes.
It's because he is expressing his esthetic through silence. His sound
is too peaceful, and the next moment....zzz.. I'm in my dream.
My favorites are I Really Samba, Unhappy Remark, and Sampa.

glue's Comment:
An immersion of the Brazilian urban and folk music. "It was the
hardest I've ever worked on an album" says Sergio.
It was the album he had wanted to create for a long time.
It is the rythmic explosion. It showed me what real Brazilian music
is all about. I guess I never knew the true Brazilian rythm until
I heard this album. Hmmmm..... get me out of this city! I should be
listening to this album at the beach!
The album won the Grammy Award in the category of the Best
World Music Album.
My favorite is Lua Soberana. I purchased this album after hearing
this song at HMV's listening station!
