General Plan of Action
The following is a list of activities planned in the
project. Those items in the list appearing in italics have already been or in
process of being completed.
1st Phase: Planning
Duration: September 2000 - July 2001
Activities:
- Project research and evaluation
- Strategic and program planning (based on conducted research
findings)
- Finalizing project proposal
- Established a pen pal program
- Fundraising for an Education Fund
- Collection and distribution of tangible materials
- Working with the media to publicize project
- Collaborate with local community
- Seek support with government sectors, parastatal
organizations, religious organizations, United Nations agencies, national and
international student organizations, international development cooperation agencies, NGOs,
companies and individuals within and outside of Tanzania
- Collaborate with private and government healthcare
facilities such as the Muhimbili Medical Centre, and government HIV/AIDS initiatives such
the National AIDS Control Program

2nd Phase: Development
Duration: September 2001- August 2003
Activities:
- Seeking facilitators and volunteers (national and
international)
- Volunteer training
- Seeking non-governmental status
- Seeking local and international collaborators
- Curriculum development for life skills programs
- Fundraising and establishment of an Education Fund
- Expand pen pal program to other schools internationally
- Formal collaboration with national and international
organizations
- Preparation for child and family counseling program
- Preparation for home-based care programs
- Collection and distribution of tangible materials
- Preparation of the Income-generating projects
- Collaboration of activities with national and international organizations
- Organize first community forum in Tanzania
- Development of web-site and information materials for
dissemination
- Working with the media to publicize project
- Curriculum development of reproductive health and AIDS
prevention education targeting youth and adults
- Development of HIV education program for women
(with/without partners) attending ante-natal care
- Prepare the site for construction for the children's home

3rd Phase: Implementation
Duration: September 2003-August 2004
Activities:
- Construction of children's home
- Construction of a health facility for basic medical services
- Implementation of the life skills programs
- Income-generating projects
- Reproductive health and AIDS prevention program
- HIV education program for women (with/without partners)
attending ante-natal care
- Volunteer program commences
- Child and family counseling services
