Supporters, Collaborators and Partners (individuals or organizations). Please contact Neema Mgana to find out how.
Forum in November 2002
Godfrey's Children and Africa Bridge, a U.S.
non-profit organization are planning a forum for leaders in the Mbeya Region to determine
current needs of children who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. The theme is "Children,
HIV/AIDS and our Future- Leaders providing Hope and a Way Forward".
The forum will be guided by facilitators who have
international experience with such specific forums, both in the private and public
sectors. They are professionals in the fields of group dynamics, organization and
leadership development in the US and Africa. While in Tanzania, Godfrey's Children and
partnering organizations and individuals will travel to other cities to learn of
activities of other AIDS organizations.
Please contact David Yleah for more information
about the forums.
Nurturing Emerging African Leadership (NEAL)
Program
The mission of the NEAL Program is "To help
African leaders in the US to make their dreams of affirming life in Africa a
reality". Individuals within Godfrey's Children have been invited to be the first
participants of this program. The first NEAL meeting will be June 2002 in Oregon, USA
where the focus will be leadership training and personal growth.
Education Fund
An Education Fund has been established to support
the education of rural children whose parent(s) have died from AIDS. The funds are used to
buy uniforms, books, and other requirements for children to attend school and to pay for
adolescents to gain practical skills through local mentoring. The Education Fund started
in May 2002 with the generous financial support of Save Africa from AIDS Campaign.
Please contact Neema Mgana if you would like to
make a contribution (including books, school bags, children's clothes, etc) to the Godfrey's Children Educational Fund.
