Are you prepared? You need to ask yourself some very important
questions: How strong is your case? If your case is questionable at
all, it will be torn apart on the merits alone by any good attorney.
You need solid proof, a smoking gun if you will. Remember, cases have
to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt to a potential jury. If you
have solid, irrefutable proof of damage having been done to you or
your property, this is what is necessary for success.
What about you as an individual? Do you stand up well under stress?
Really heavy stress that could last up to several years? Stress that
could be so extreme you'll have to repair cracked teeth? Are you an
honest person? Do others consider you to be so? Can it be proved that
you are not? Do you have any skeletons in your closet? Do you family
or loved ones have any skeletons? Ever been arrested? For what?
Will your personal integrity stand up to merciless scrutiny? Do you
want all your personal information entered into documentation that
is accessible as a public record? Will your family, friends, loved
ones, and coworkers stand behind you? For up to several years? Will
they be willing to "go to bat"for you? Will people tell
the truth? Can you really depend on witnesses? Are you credible?
If you can honestly
answer that you feel your case and yourself are strong enough to
pursue a legal battle and most importantly you feel passionately
that you will prevail, then there are some important steps you need
to take.
