Plot: It's Halloween and Niles is having a party where everyone must come as a literary figure. Before the party Roz confides to Frasier that she thinks she may be pregnant, but he must keep it quiet until she is certain.
At the party, Roz tells Daphne she may have had a little accident. Thinking she means car accidents, Daphne tells Frasier, who, thinking Roz has told Daphne the truth, mentions the pregnancy. So Daphne becomes part of the secret. Unfortunately part of their conversation is overheard by Niles, who thinks that Daphne is pregnant and that Frasier is the father…..
Niles becomes cross when Frasier starts flirting with a guest dressed as Eve from the Bible ("No wonder they call it the Good Book….."). He thinks that Frasier is just forgetting his responsibility to Daphne, whose eyes are watering (this is because her fake eyelashes are making her do so but Niles doesn't know this). Niles, by now drunk, tells Martin about the pregnancy. Martin thinks he means Roz (he's already been told the truth) and is surprised when Niles, still thinking about Daphne, promises to marry the "poor single mother".
Niles then decides to propose to Daphne and challenge Frasier to a duel…..
