Plot: It's Frasier's 1000th show. When Frasier says he doesn't want any big celebrations, he doesn't get any. Of course this isn't what he wanted, so he drops a few hints and eventually "Frasier Crane Day" is declared in Seattle.
Frasier gets caught up in his own self-publicity and the morning before the rally for him at the Space Needle he walks through Seattle waving to people and calling out "I'm listening!!!" (much to Niles' amusement.).
On the way to the rally, Niles accidentally spills coffee over Frasier's shoes. After he has bought new ones, they haven't got much time left. They take a short cut through an alleyway where they are mugged and then later steal a quarter from a blind musician so they can pay for the monorail ride to get them to the rally. Unfortunately they are spotted and chased by a lot of schoolgirls. Then when they finally get on the monorail, it breaks down. Will Frasier ever get there?
In the meantime, Daphne has a few words with the mayor about the status of resident aliens - he thinks she's an obsessive X-Files fan from the way she says it. And poor Martin has to read a speech about his son to keep the crowd's attention - written by a certain Dr Crane of course…..
Subtitles: One Of The World's Most Foremost Experts On Hair Pulling; It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.
Trivia: The real 100th episode. The second half is shot on location in Seattle itself, and the city's mayor makes a special appearance. The end credits show Kelsey Grammer singing the theme song at the real Frasier Crane Day on September 11th 1997. Plus, did anyone notice the name of the shoe shop Frasier visited? It's called Lloyd & Keenan. Now look at the writers of this episode..... :-)
