Skyline: The Space Needle is decorated with Christmas lights.Plot: Frasier has bought his family, Daphne and Roz massages for Christmas. In turn, they tell the massuer what the holiday was like for them. Martin's Story: Martin has been roped into helping out the Christmas pageant at the church. He's playing a wise man and has to sing a solo, which involves a high note. Gravely voiced Martin can't get that far and the song sounds awful. This explains why Eddie tried to go into the church when Daphne walked him that afternoon. Martin doesn't want Daphne to know this though - she'd come and watch and he's nervous enough as it is. Frasier promises to give Martin singing lessons. That night he and Niles do so, and they try and try again..... Daphne's Story: Daphne thinks Martin may be dying - a former patient kept going to church before he died. She confides in Niles who says Martin's fine, but Martin coughs badly whilst talking with Frasier (above). Over the next few days, Daphne becomes convinced that the worst will happen due to various double meanings - such as Martin 'phoning the priest to ask what he should say when he meets Jesus. When she finds out the truth, she's furious, but Martin thinks it's funny. They start arguing and niether notice Niles staggering in..... Niles' Story: Niles is in the lift with three other people when it breaks down. The others start worrying - one of them has left her kids alone and is worried and a man, Albert, sees the worst in everything. Plus his wife remembers the time the people crushed in the lift accident arrived in the ER where she works..... Niles has no choice but to climb up Albert's Christmas tree which he is taking to his apartment and manually work the switch. He succeeds, but lands in a pile of grease. His new suit is covered with tree sap and he looks a mess as he enters Frasier's. Later he's telling Daphne and Martin what happened when Roz arrives..... Roz's Story: Roz's mom is coming to visit. When she's getting coffee, Joanna Doyle rings and Frasier answers. Frasier tells her that Roz is a bit sensitive about her weight due to her pregnancy pounds. Roz arrives back and confesses that she's worried about telling her mom about the pregnancy..... Roz finds out Frasier let it slip when the two are Mother and Father Christmas at the mall for charity and is very, very cross. She runs off in tears and Frasier tells everyone that "Mrs Claus was up very late last night with presents!!!" Roz turns up at Frasier's that evening and angrily gives him his present. Then Martin returns - the pageant was a disaster after Eddie stole the Jesus doll. Everyone starts arguing. What can Frasier do to stop it? Free massages!!! Subtitles: A Room With Four Views. Trivia: Obviously mentions of Joanna Doyle here. Eddie buries his head under the coushin when Martin does his singing lessons. And Niles' strange behaviour is explained away by the other Elliot Bay Towers residents as such - "Oh, that's Dr Crane's brother." First appearance of Mrs Richman, although here she is credited as "Mother in Lift." |
