Plot: Frasier's managed to get everyone at KACL fired and the station is now all salsa. Frasier arranges a picnic for everyone as an apology, and finds that only he and Roz don't already have new jobs. Bulldog now works for the new all sports station, Kenny's back at KACL as station manager, and Gil has got a "Top 100" job.
Back home, Frasier goes through the 5 stages of mourning. Martin notices that Frasier is eating for comfort and is putting a bit of weight on. He hears about a fan club of him on the Internet, and that its members are holding a rally to get him back on the radio. Unfortunately, there are only 3 of them, and it makes the news in the "Lighter Side" section.
Later when Roz comes over, she shows everyone a tape of Frasier eating Alice's baby food. Frasier then starts to cry, and Niles encourages him to let it all out. Later on, Frasier accepts that he's not famous anymore, and comes to terms with it.
Meanwhile Martin teaches Eddie a new trick.
Subtitles: Denial; Anger; Bargaining; Depression, Acceptance, Denial.
Trivia: This episode was the first to be aired at 9pm in America. Previously Seinfeld had aired at 9 and Frasier at 10, but when Seinfeld ended Frasier moved in. Frasier's first words in this episode are:
"Before we begin, I'd like to say how honoured I am to be taking over this slot. Obviously, I have some rather big shoes to fill - my predecessor here was much beloved. But I have never been one to shrink from a challenge and I'm sure we'll enjoy many happy years here together in my new home."
This was an inside joke at the move. It is revealed later that Frasier was auditioning for a TV job after getting fired. Mentions of
Grammie Moon, and Bebe when Frasier 'phones her to check up on his job offers. Tooty makes a reappearance as well. Alice is mentioned as Frasier babysat her and ate her food (Roz had installed the camera because the previous babysitter had stolen from Roz).Read the script of this episode at
