Plot: Frasier is introduced to Poppy, the station owner's daughter. He is due to take her out for dinner, but is put off by her endless chatter and passes her onto Roz. It seems that no-one at KACL is too fond of her, not even Gil, who runs away from her.
Niles meanwhile has exciting news - he's just become the Arts Critic for The Monocle. This job comes with privileges, including two front row seats for a Cecelia Bartoli concert. Although he tells everyone otherwise, Frasier is very jealous, especially as Niles is flaunting his new status. Martin tells Daphne that the boys have always had to have what the other had.
It's Poppy's last day and everyone is very relieved. Frasier confides in Roz that he wants Niles' perks and she tells him he'll end up like Chester Ludgate, who's just retired. This gives Frasier an idea - Chester's slot is open, so he decides to host an arts show. After Kenny says the idea is boring, Frasier speaks to Poppy, who speaks to her mother, the owner of KACL.
Next day Frasier prepares to host his show, only to find the owner decided Poppy could host the show. She's so pleased, but everyone else isn't. They end up snubbing Frasier, who is still feeling dejected over the arts show. And Poppy is here to stay.....
Subtitles: How A Poppy Becomes A Heroine.
Trivia: First Season 7 appearance of Gil. First appearance of Poppy. A subplot includes Eddie eating little Robbie Greenberg's hamster. Rob Greenberg, of course, is one of the Frasier writers.
