Skyline: Lights go on in the skyscrapers.

Plot: Frederick has asked his father to get him an X-Men comic - and so Frasier and Roz go to a sci-fi convention to find one. Whilst Roz is fighting off Noel's affections, Frasier sees Jackson Hedley signing autographs. Jackson came to Frasier's prep school when Frasier was young and did a one-man performance of Hamlet, making Frasier fall in love with the stage. Jackson is now reduced to signing autographs due to his role as Tobor the android in Space Patrol.

Frasier and Niles feel sorry for him, and decide to help him out. They decide to let him put on the one-man performance again and invite all their friends to the opening night. However they then discover that Jackson can't act to save his life!!!

Thinking their reputations will suffer if their friends see this show, Frasier and Niles decide to try and stop the show getting ahead. They try to pull the plug but are worried about what Jackson will say. So on the opening night they try to sabotage the performance, including sending Jackson's father Cecil (Jackson's "lucky charm") to the wrong theatre so that Jackson won't go on and getting a Fire Marshall to close them down due to there being too many people in the theatre. But none of these seem to work.....

Subtitles: Trotting The Bards; Curtains.

Where Everybody Knows Your Name: Mention of Frederick who has asked his father to get him a comic book.

Trivia: You may have noticed that there is no mention of Daphne up until now. This is because this is the first episode where all 5 regulars have not appeared. Jane Leeves was on maternity leave when this was filmed, and Daphne is said to have the flu. (Jane still appears in the credits for some reason). She'll be back next week though. Mention of Duke - he and Martin went on holiday to Florida.
